In Automatron we don't know the location of the Mechanists base until we decode the robobrains, hence the fetch quests for robobrains.
@millerrepin44524 ай бұрын
They could have done this fetch quest anyway they wanted and chose to make it a random spot to attack. If they couldn't make the fetch quest interesting they could have made a different type of quest to locate the Mechanist base. The important part is that it's fun more than anything else.
@Zakupla_Builder4 ай бұрын
@@millerrepin4452 there was one random fetch sandwiched between General Atomics, and the Rust Devils satellite base, making the three robobrains that led to the Robco facility.

My biggest problem with Broken Steel is that the main world doesn't scale well with it. The new enemies just demolish everything in the base game, so you can easily wind up with situations like Big Town being completely wiped by a wandering Albino Radscorpion or Sydney being long dead by the time you would reach her. So, in my opinion, it's best to leave Broken Steel uninstalled until you are ready to play it. Sure, you won't get the higher level cap, but the game will feel a bit more balanced.
@vonshroom20683 ай бұрын
I just wished New Vegas had that option. It just irks me everytime i play it again. Atleast with fallout 3 you can disable all DLC's until you feel you want to have a go at it. Like operation Anchorage replacing the BOS soldiers right outside of Megaton with outcasts. Just tick the DLC off and they're BOS again. As with New Vegas well either go gunz blazing or setup a stash so you're not curb stomping people with the Thumper. Its the same issue i have with the creation club content of fallout 4. Especially since all modders seem to favor 4-5 prime loot locations for their quests.

The Adams Air Force Base was my favorite level in that game. Sad FO4 kept BOS as the Mary Sue of the series. Hoping BOS is extinct in FO5.

@vex8ion196 not hard at all. They just need to decide to do it.

BoS doesn't have to be extinct in FO5 (it will actually depend where and when it takes place) but it would be nice if they take a backseat and are just a small presence like in New Vegas. Though considering the BoS have been major factions in 3, 4, and the tv series, and are a main quest faction in 76 it's very likely they'll play some large role in the game.
@PatGunn4 ай бұрын
@@jcohasset23 doesn't have to be, but it would be nice because if they were gone for good, there would be no more risk of them being the Mary Sue in any future games. I want them really gone forever.

Bethesda can't help themselves, FO5 could take place in Siberia and they'd find a way to include the BoS, the Children of Atom, and the Enclave.

Broken Steel did an excellent job showcasing the difficulty of doing a good deed. Everyone has clean water, that’s great! But that means shipping it over roads, hills, valleys for an organization without the ability. Con men are selling the clean water at ridiculous mark-ups. If you’ve ever seen Avatar, it’s when Uncle Iroh exasperatingly exclaims “AND THEN WHAT?!” That’s Broken Steel

I have to give the storyline 1 out of 5, because there is no in game option to tell Elder Lyons, right at the start, that he and his BoS are now the Lone Wanderer' Sworn Mortal Enemy, due to his bunch of murderous traitor mutineer deserters of the United States Armed Forces having cold blooded murdered the Last President Of The United States Of America. The sole, in game way which the Lone Wanderer can become the Mortal Enemy to Lyons' BOS is via a Pyrrhic Victory at the very end of the DLC, by setting the missile strike target to be The Pentagon. And as has since been revealed through Fallout 4 and the TV series, such a Pyrrhic Victory is non-canon. Now why does such a lack of choice, Matter? Because in the main game, the Lone Wanderer can find a terminal in the Pentagon with BoS logs detailing the history of the BoS from the last days of The Great War, to in game present. The Lone Wanderer was raised to Believe that they and their fellow Vault 101 residents were the last of the USA. Yet in the main game, on learning of that BoS history, the Lone Wanderer is not permitted to react to, or because of, it. Lyons' BoS are the Mary Sue of the game. And with the opening of this DLC, learning of the cold blooded murder of the Last President Of The United States Of America, the BoS status as Mary Sues is brutally pounded into the game player' skull with all the lack of subtlety of an attack with the oversized fire hydrant wielded by a Super Mutant Behemoth.
