My Cade-centric Cavs-Pistons takeaways were that Cade’s control of the ball and pace was pretty incredible and the midrange shooting was also elite. His height also makes those floaters and high point layups really deadly. He was the only person to be hitting layups over Allen or Mobley because of it. Cade was effectively the only person that was playing well enough to beat the Cavs and to be fair I was scared whenever he got the ball but his ball security and navigation of tight spaces definitely betrayed him last night. It really kills his close-out attacking game especially in the corners of the court where athleticism solves a lot of those problems. I don’t think the Pistons had a cohesive offense last night, they have some real skill with the shooting and Cade-Ivey’s creation but the ball-movement and the cutting felt non-threatening and it completely erased Ron Holland’s scoring chances. Cleveland is a tough matchup, especially given their 2 bigs who were both insanely good and their desire to close off the paint so it’s understandable.

Cade is so skilled now. He has really refined his inside the arc shot making. Agreed on the need for another plus creator. Massive usage won't be sustainable for a whole season

It’s amazing what good spacing does for a player who has a skillset of cades caliber. Hope this is the year for him.

Cades off to a good start scoring the ball I think his weight is a fascinating topic Id like to see him get stronger - but lighter. I think he can still use his size and strength in the paint but would benefit from being lighter on his feet. I think he needs to train for athleticism.

He was my preseason mip pick, I’m more confident now. I’m not sure my overall thoughts on Cade and his future have really changed until he can improve his turnover problem and become a knockdown shooter. I think he will end up being a multi time all star. If he fixes his flaws his ceiling is higher.
