1999 I bought my wife a pewter Suburban LT for 28,995 roughly 54k today. Make Suburbans affordable again!

Yes but you’re also missing 6 gears/about 100HP / much nicer interior and more room not to mention new interior is night and day better. With your figured inflation that’s not that bad. And by the way I 100% agree , everything is way too expensive.

@@9663mu I think that’s also my point. Suburban should offer an equally equipped Suburban to what I bought in 1999. Even the base LS which is most similarly equipped is roughly 10k more.

What in the world are you guys talking about? The back glass does open up. It opens on my 2024 suburban high country and on my cousin’s 2023 suburban premier also on my friends 2022 suburban Z71 . I’m surprised you just didn’t google (does the rear glass on the tailgate of a suburban/Tahoe open up?) If you did that you would’ve gotten an answer of yes it does open. Also the switch is above the license plate on the outside of the tailgate to open the glass only. You’re also reviewing a 2024 baby Duramax In the suburban it’s not 277 hp and 460 torque code LM2, that’s the old rating. In 2023 the 2nd generation baby Duramax was introduced code LZ0 rated at 305 hp and 495 torque that is the correct engine that is in the suburban you’re reviewing.

That random cubby is for the sunglasses .. right before you said no sunglasses holder 😂

4:10 The rear glass does open independently on the Suburban, actually. It had that feature for years now, so why did you say it doesn’t open independently from the lift gate?

Great vehicle that is now out of reach of it’s target audience.

I live in an upper middle class neighborhood in Louisiana and these along with Tahoe’s are very common. Unlike my neighbors, I choose not to live in tremendous debt, which is how most of these buyers afford these vehicles.

The 2025 has electronic column shifter.

the GM full size SUVs have become minivan replacements only they take up more space, have less interior room, are not as comfortable or as practical, are much more expensive, and get worse fuel economy.

This is the old LM2. Wait to buy until GM puts the new LZ0 in their SUV line.

being this large of a vehicle it’s completely unacceptable that Craig at less than 6 feet tall doesn’t have enough headroom. I’m not even going to mention Brian. What was Chevy thinking? They always manage to butcher an important feature or detail.

Why are diesel engines always so under appreciated?

Did you watch the video? It is sloooow

Even more so that the Equinox had a 1.6 diesel that easily achieved over 40 miles per gallon. It was discontinued despite being a very capable and efficient engine. Only later on did we find out it was an unreliable turd.
