progression to townhall 10 is EXPONETIALLY faster than it use to back in the day, but in my opinion townhall 11 and up it gets much slower as it takes weeks for each individual upgrade.

As an On/Off player who tried clash first in 2015 and started really focusing on my account in 2019 , i can understand the various changes the game has underwent . Im currently 70% on th13 . i think there was a decline period for the game when everyone started to get bored of it and supercell had to do something about it . they never changed the fundamentals of the game , its grindy but the addition of new things made the efforts worthwhile .

Time is only an issue from th12 onward, upgrades at lower town halls used to take days, example, TH10 took around 10 days to be built, now its only 2

As someone who played a lot in 2013-2014 where town hall 10 was max, it took 2 years of constantly playing (not rushed though) to reach Town Hall 8, and it was beginning of high-end level at that time an you were pretty powerful with those troops you got in clan wars. Now I started a new account not even 2 weeks ago and already ready to upgrade to 6 (just need a few gold and elixier collectors to upgrade), non-rushed. Ressources are almost always completely full, clan treasure as well, there is a complete overflow of elixier and gold. I can also constantly attack, troops cost nothing and training speed seems to be double or even faster as well. Trophy push got pretty easy too I am planning on playing more, I guess it gets much harder/slower at town hall 11-12 or so

Same played back in the day in 13-15 had a solid TH 8 account but left it and tried to come back many times ever since but somehow just couldn't, now I've started a new account bought the builders with money😂 and am planning to just stick with the game this time 10 years later and i have to say the upgrades come so fast and the loot oh my every fifth search is a 200-300k loot inactive account and the troops are always available so resources aren't even a consideration anymore. It's all about committing and sticking with the game now

The main problem of Clash of Clans is not that is too easy , its not that farming or climbing is hard since now attack is really strong. The thing is that it takes "forever" to upgrade something , for example I am a returning player and one upgrade takes like 18-19 days , which is super crazy. Never have I experience upgrades to take THAT long , back then when Town Hall 10 was meta and both the queen and king were cap at lvl 40 , upgrades did not take that long like they do now on the Town Halls 12+

moving from th13 to th14 can MASSIVELY feel how long progression has become. in TH13 most (if not all) upgrades only take 7-8days. In TH14, even upgrading a storage takes 10 days... jeez

If they're going to continuously add new town halls till the end of time with only incrementally in exponentially increasing cost of those upgrades and time then it only makes sense to add items to vastly speed up progression otherwise it would take decades to max out and the game would not be fun and people would lose interest in it

@@Alex-02 no they're not, adding a new town hall doesn't mean they are focusing on improving progress, they are in fact, making it longer, training times are exaggerated, barrack upgrade time takes too much and we get punished with a 50% more waiting time, that ain't progress.

@@elnewbie2611 You picked a horrible example to support your point. Both training time and barrack upgrades used to be much much worse. We used to have 4 barracks and when one was upgrading you couldn’t train troops at all, same for the spell factory (meaning no spells for a week!) . It used to take 45 min to train one pekka (although to be fair this was also when you had 4 barracks, but it’s still so much worse than today)

Now thinking about it, the hero's extra life is very nice to have. You can train up 2 attacks worth of troops, but if your heros died on the first attack, you would have to wait for them to heal while having the 2nd army ready. But then again that makes the heros dying in battle less valuable (idk a good word fod this)

It's gotten even faster for TH10 below (or maybe even TH11 and 12 below, but I'm not sure), so it's still a lot easier at the start. Upgrades back then for those TH levels (not just TH10) already took days before it was eventually balanced with the addition of the latter Town Halls.

Progression is easier. But attacking is way tougher. Yeh, armies used to take hours, but casual players wouldn't have a hard time figuring them out.

Progression is so much quicker then back in the day. However, townhall 12 and up you have to start actually trying to get 2-3 stars. At least having some sort of technical skill when deploying your army is necessary which is good overall.

loot is the only thing I would say is TOO EASY. Back in the day as a kid I would literally have dreams about getting higher ths. Getting loot was more challenging back in the day

It’s easier and more tedious. I came back after a 7 year break and in about 3 months I went from a rushed Th11 to max insanely quick, but now that I’m Th12 I’m already back to sitting on full storages with week long upgrade timers. I basically play for 3-4 days, then wait a week for an upgrade to finish, re-max my storages and log out until another upgrade finishes. It’s made me realize that somehow there is so much to do (max base, wars, raid weekends, builder base, clan capital, clan war league) and yet somehow I still find myself waiting for weeks on end for something to do.

It was a different game, can't even remember how most things looked like. I don't mind that it's easier, I'm a farmer idc about 3starring people. I just want to progress

The game progresses faster....YES!. However....it has become almost impossible to 3 star a fully maxed TH 15. For me , with 2 fully- maxed TH 15's the attacks are soooo extremely difficult that I have stopped playing CWL and is considering to stop playing C of C. The game makes me feel hopeless and defeated

@@vasilijeviktor54 No its actually difficult to triple a TH15, at least according to my clanmates. You either need a really poorly designed opponent base, or meticulous planning and some RNG with the troop pathing to get 3 stars. There's so many strong defenses at TH15, especially the spell towers when they use Invis, but at the same time the army size and stats don't really keep up. This is why there's talk of direct TH15 nerfs once this month's CWL is up.

@vasilijeviktor54 I agree. It is a skills issue . .... for me and 90 % of all " normal", non- professional players. We do not want to struggle to get 3 stars! We do not want to plan attacks for long periods before we attack. We play the game because we love it and have loved it for 8,5 years. Attacks have unfortunately become too difficult for normal human beings. If TH 16 is going to be even more difficult, I am going to stop playing.

You do realize that it takes more than 4 years to max plus town hall 16 is coming soon, we need a time reduction update. Also It takes 15 days to unlock town hall 15 so 16 will probably take 20 or something close to that.

town hall 10 is an early roadblock and on off playing on an account that’s existed since 2013 or so has only gotten me to town hall 12, certainly possible to get further in that amount of time i’m certain but the overall intent is for it to require around 2 years or so to get to max, not just to townhall 9 if it took 2 years to just get to townhall 9 I doubt the game would be around at all
