IS COCONUT OIL BAD FOR LOCS?

I use a mixture of black castor oil and a little bit of coconut oil and water

Fractionated coconut oil does not build up its absorbed in to the hair. However, coconut oil, which is not fractionated, will build up.

What about people who live in tropical regions where it never gets cold, I live in a tropical region and I’m sure coconut oil won’t solidify in my hair

Yeah I would imagine the oil won’t solidify in your loc cos you’re in a much warmer climate. Me on the other hand 😭

It wasn't the coconut oil it was that you didn't detoxify as often as you should have detoxifying keeps the locks healthy and strong and clean my boyfriend was saying this, says it was one of his mistakes during one of his sets of locks #thrillzradio

That sounds like fair advice to be honest. When you say detoxify - do you mean ACV soaks/rinses or using a clarifying shampoo ?

Hey I have been using coconut oil for my locks ..because I have run out of my og oils ie argon jojoba ect and my locks where in dire need of hydration so in desperation I have been using coconut oil …are my locks gonna be ok?????

Heyyy x no need to panic especially if you are in a hot country. As long as you wash your hair with clarifying shampoo you should be fine. I would say just don’t slather your hair with coconut oil. Be intentional with the amounts you use. Wrap your hair up as often as possible so your locs don’t attract that much lint and fluff and You’ll be fine xx
