Crawley is mainly a new town from the 1960s. It has a bit of a dodgy reputation nowadays for drugs and crime, but in fact, most people there will be working locally, most likely at Gatwick Airport nearby. And yes, seagulls can get that far!

Glad to see you visited my old town! I was shocked when punch bowl got review bombed. Def the best pub in town along with Shades in second! The nightlife isn’t there much anymore as it’s lost 3 big clubs over the years but still fairly descent.

Home! Thank god you went to Troy's, big Crawley name! Gun Shop (Crawley Surplus Store) has moved to Three Bridges area not far from the Station. Little known fact: You can get a Bus from Crawley Town Centre to Gatwick Airport for £2 and then a Flight to Orlando, Florida for under £200.

The shopping centre lost a lot of it's soul (if a modern shopping centre could have one!) when Debenhams closed down. It occupied the whole end of the building, and now it is just an empty void. So that end always feels desolate now. I go to Crawley a lot as it does have enough shops to be useful, although it hasn't got the appeal to make you linger.

The Shopping Mall used to be so good. It's lost some good shops (Model Zone is the one that comes to mind) and the parking has gone up in price so I think the combination of the two has reduced it's appeal somewhat. There's was a great Waffle restaurant outside in the old part of the town. I'm not sure it's still there, though. That pub has Inch's Cider on draught? That's a big Pro already.

As you undoubtedly know, Crawley has the largest diaspora of Chagossians three to four thousand (people from the island of Diego Garcia in the British Indian Ocean Territory) forcibly removed to Mauritius 50+ years ago to make way for a US air and naval base. However, they were not welcomed there, so they moved to Crawley. Bad Uncle Sam, always upsetting the natives. Nothing ever changes from the 1620s to 2024. 😮 Anyway, nice video, and Becky's hair looks lovely.

It was a pretty sad day when the Norwich Ikea "Order Collection Point" permanently closed its doors on 16th July 2021... It had a cafe and was kinda just a mini version of the real Ikeas. It is now, one of the major things lacking in The Fine City. I'd also love a Decathlon to be fair.

As a citizen of Sussex, the problem with Crawley is, its a bit of a mish mash and ends up not being as good as other places to go. eg Horsham and Chichester are nicer during the day and Brighton is best for a night out. Worthing is a bit like crawley in a weird way, just replace the chavs with of old people.

I was born in Crawley in 1977. I moved to Scotland at the age of 2, & have never been back "home". Regular summer visits to my old nan in Horsham in the 90s are the closest I ever got. This video has me considering a return visit. Though admittedly the promise of day drinking and a Döner kebab for lunch, are perhaps adding a rosy hue to my otherwise grey-tinted spectacles (or are they beer goggles?) 🤔 Suddenly, Crawley doesn’t look as creepy as I’ve been lead to believe all these years. 🤪

It's a town built during the 60s. You missed an opportunity to show the town from the train station walking into town. Most are boarded up windows and buildings are empty. It's the worst town I have ever been to. I can't believe they tried to apply to bid to make it a city just because it's right next to Gatwick Airport. If you like Crawley then I suggest you come to my Town Redhill because it's a s hole 🕳️ like Crawley and Aldershot. Oh, you missed out on Romesh Ranganathan he is from there. In the last shot in the clip, you were by the Three Bridges Train Station and the Snooty Fox Pub. Next time you are in Redhill let me know and I will take you out for a night out in Reigate. Reigate is a far nicer town.
