To be fair, the ceph aren't exactly antagonistic, they're just trying to squash a pest infestation. Besides, the Ceph we've fought aren't really even the Ceph-Ceph, but their roombas. All of the ones in Crysis 2 are more or less human material shoved into exoskeletons to mimic human tactics because they have no idea how to fight. Cosmic horror sure is terrifying and funny at the same time.

Remind me if I'm wrong, but isn't Cryfibril based off Ceph technology? If so, that would explain why it seems to have a lot of unusual properties. One of the most interesting things that was brought up in Crysis Legion (the novel adaptation of Crysis 2) was that the Ceph encountered in the games aren't actually the Ceph, but either tools or something akin to park rangers.

At times I've imagined what a 40k Space Marine with a Crysis Nanosuit could do; assuming the suit's nanomachines and the Marines Lamartes cells don't try to eat each other alive. I'd imagine the Space Marine could probably arm wrestle a Tyranid Hive Tyrant with just the suit on and probably win beyond having just a truly ferociously potent new commando infiltrator type marine. Having a Nanosuit as a new kind of Undersuit for Astartes Power Armor for unparalleled integration of sensors, strength enhancement and heavy armor protection with I giant fusion powered backpack reactor to fuel everything. Then have Astartes biology and the Nanomachines working together to ensure peak performance and absurd cellular regeneration or possibly even armor repair and cloaking with the Power Armor on even without integrating the Imperium's already existing stealth tech like Cameloine cloaks, stummer noise cancellation generators or the Deathwatch Masking Screen tech derived from Tau Stealth Suits. It would result with a True Post-Human Super Soldier on every level. Even if you don't like the xenotech involved; simply thinking on that hard enough with the N2.0 might be enough for the suit itself to adapt to that desire.

Seriously, in Sci-Fi what's even above a Spartan Mjolnir that is still considered a Power Suit/Exoskeleton, and do not qualify as a Mecha or even tiptoe into the Mecha category? Spartan Armor will hold that number one spot for a long time to be honest.

Sci-Fi books tend to be pretty crazy compared to most games/movies, even ttrpgs. Off top of my mind: Phase suit (prolly even the FORCE suit) from Hyperion Cantos or the powered armors from Crimson Worlds have feats that surpass Mjolnir clad Spartans and are used by unaugmented humans. Hell the the power armors from Starship troopers (book), which is the more or less first mention of powered suits in Sci-Fi, are better than Mjolnir in some ways (Mobility for example - they have jump packs that allow them such mobility that each MI soldier has a personal combat zone measured in miles).

This was always one of the most interesting sf armor concepts, and one that seemed very near term in many ways even ignoring the nanotechnology bits. But wonder about how well it could work with the body inside. Yes the artificial mussel would be very light and have greater strength, but wouldn’t the person inside the suit get crushed, bones broken, blood squeezed out of veins and arteries? I’m not clear if the suit has a internal frame or hardening layer on the skin, shielding the biological “squishy goodness” of the wearer? Or would you need to reinforce the bones and cartilage like the Halo Spartans? And of course, how well could a body take the slamming around in the suit? Fall off a building and the suit freezes into a inflexible armor shell when you hit the ground. But how well to organs, bones, lungs and void spaces, deal with the shock? Here per floro fluorocarbons(?) like used in the Deep,Suit, and on the rat, in the Abyss, were tested in real life and allowed rats to survive 200 g impact loads with no apparent damage. But still, falling backward a dozen floors onto a street …. That’s got to do internal inquires not to mention concussions from hell?

@@Installation00 Hey do you think it possible to make a nanosuit mjolnir. I mean crysis suit principles and mjolnir aesthetic
@Xainfinen
@Xainfinen 18 күн бұрын
@@omarcj789 A Mjolnir is pretty much a "Nanosuit" dialed up to 11 with armor plating and Energy Shielding. Nanosuit mostly refer to the tech and main component it's made of or how it's functionalities come from. Depending of the IP it may not be a good idea to even think of using nanotech because it's the same as introducing Magic. The latest generations of Mjolnir have all their technology into the Undersuit and the armor is simply just that. The differences are design and aesthetic choices that varies with artist and IPs, but originally in the Sci-fi Zeitgeist there was/is a distinctive difference of capabilities between an Armor & a Suit that seems to have started to get blurred in the early 2000s. Classical Power Suits/Exoskeletons were often slick and very flexible, they were associated with the "Cyber Ninja" that you see in the Cyberpunk Genre. MGS's Cyborg Ninja, and the Batman Beyond suit are a few exemples. They would be bulletproof to a degree, enhance their users abilities, grant improved vision, and stealth. Power Armors were always bigger and armored, seen as wearable tanks or person sized Mecha, and they would most often have mounted Boosters and heavy weapons. Now you see everything called a Power Suit able to fly while sometimes they oddly look similar across IPs because of how impactful and influential Halo & MCU Iron Man have been.

I know you guys are probably focusing on the material science aspect of the suits, but I'm curious, with all of the passive augmentation to the armors and suits, is it not feasible to include weapons as a part of the armors/ suits? Imagine the spartan laser firing from above the wrists, mjolinir is nuclear powered, right? A little reinforced fiber-optics ending in a focusing lense... flame throwers, mini rockets, perhaps a collection of nanotechnology at the knuckles, and one might have an array of extra shielding, knives, claws, swords etc.
