I was born and raised in Dalton, Ga. Lived there for a large portion of my life, from 1981 to 2008. The strange thing is that my time there, it stayed primarily the same with hardly any changes. I moved to Nebraska to be with my wife and start a family only to come back to Dalton a few years later to visit family and everything had changed on me!

I used to go down to work and play in Dalton and it is a train watchers paradise with both NS and CSX running through, the visitors center is also a train viewing platform with Virtual Railfan providing a stream and ATCS to see which trains occupy which block coming to or heading out of Dalton

I'm planning to move and live at Dalton. How about crime,discriminations against non 100% US citizen,...? So, do you think it's not safe?How about finding jobs? I have bachelor degree in English literature. I might live at Horseshoe way.
@fredcooper69672 жыл бұрын
Honestly I wouldn’t your bachelors degree don’t mean much in this town the pay rate it horrible and only jobs you find is for carpet mills I would go to Marietta,ga or somewhere else this is a dead end town

@@so_many_women_so_little_ti2833 Most small towns like Dalton, Calhoun, Etc., have a minority majority. They are pretty accepting when it comes to race, so racism and discrimination is not very common. However, Dalton has a noticeable poverty problem, if you go to the right places. There's quite a bit of crime in those areas, but they're just like many other towns. Downtown and anywhere near there has a lower rate of crime, and there are many opportunities there.

Awesome video. Loved hearing about Dalton. My wife has three brothers and their families all living in Dalton. We were impressed when we drove in to visit. It was a first visit for me. The thought of moving there has been on our minds. Didn't know if we would find any members of our church in Dalton. My wife's family are not members of our church. As we drove in to Dalton we noticed a familiar building, a meeting house for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. I thought wow we are home. Also amazed at the price of homes in Dalton. We live in California a couple miles from the ocean. Our little home is valued at over $800,000 although we paid a lot less than that years ago. I didn't think I would ever see homes under $300,000 again. Anyway, keep up the good work.

Dalton could be nice the problem is crime/drugs. My issue is the market likes to use the word luxury in order to charge more but in reality these apartments usually suck! Mediocre at best. The ones that are decent are too high to even rent. The rest aren’t even close to luxury but they charge rent like they are.

My Mother's family is from Dalton. I remember when it was mostly white. I'm 50 years old and Dalton was a much smaller town back then. Dalton is northwest Georgia. I'm old enough to remember when they sprayed for bugs in the summer. They stopped that because of toxins in the spray they used. And Yes, there were Mexicans then too. My second cousin married a Mexican man. There was a migration of blacks from a country, I forget which one, in the 1980's. My grand uncle and aunt, lived on Heritage Circle, off Underwood. My other great uncle lived on Dozer street and others lived on Charles Street.
