Right off the bat, I am thrilled she doesn't begin with "I would like to thank..." and then not thank anybody.

It not an issue of socialism or capitalism or totalitarianism. It is about finding the right mixture of social policy which channels the natural innate drives of human beings to achieve the maximum potential of individuals in a manner which brings the greatest benefit for society at large. Pure socialism fails because it fails to motivate human begins to maximize individual potential. Rewards are not closely tied to performance and it promotes the human tendency toward dependency. Pure capitalism fails because it fails to properly disincentive the human tendency toward greed and exploitation. Billionaires threaten democracy because the concentration of power in the hands of the few permits them to buy the political process and remove large block of capital from the tax base and circulation in the economy. Billion-dollar companies often pay no income tax but consume substantial public resources to generate profits. After a certain level of income, companies should be incentivized to spread that money back to the workers who generate the profits. This will circulate the money back in the communities and raise the standard of living for society at large. It also will create stronger middle class which is important for holding governments accountable. Limiting a personal wealth to 500 million will not discourage capitalism but will encourage social responsibility. It also requires a cohesive social policy which has to be centered around strengthening the nuclear family. This means social policy cannot endorse things which have no socially redeeming value to society like homosexuality and feminism which are destructive to the nuclear family.

The woman at the 38 min mark didn't pay attention to the whole speech, saying the problem is government has "Gotten smaller!" No government has gotten bigger, power has become concentrated in the executive branch, the legislative branch is incompetent and distracted by partisanship and the judiciary system is corrupt. Buy, hey, lets make all these institutions bigger and even more powerful!

She didn't say "smaller," she said "weaker," so do listen carefully before you pop off with disinformation. Reagan began the distrust of government (which is what "we do to govern ourselves," though God knows there are areas in need of improvement in government). But Reagan tagged our government as "the enemy," and that is totally unreasonable, given the many and vital functions that we provide for ourselves through our government.

It is amazing to have an individual from the Continent of Africa...spelling out short comings with the USA (funny how the short comings align with the Democrat perspective & not Republican). Any way this individual should take her advanced degree and assist the Dictators in Africa to actually become even as bad as we the USA is........Never happen she would be in jail or worse no longer living...SAD

Just saw her on Bill Maher and found her quite mediocre...certainly didn’t live up to her educational or work background. Filled a political slot I think!

@Paul Nu She’s talking way above your head. Even Bill Gates couldn’t fathom her wisdom. Her words have made its impact. China is helping Africa climb out of the deep hole they are in. The west is now tripping over one another to do likewise now.....but it’s too late....the west has lost it.
