Is Destiny Changing for the Worse?! Massive TWAB Breakdown and Concerns!

Bungie released a massive TWAB/TWID today detailing sweeping changes coming to the sandbox. Most of the changes are due to the crucible-wide implementation of the previous checkmate modifiers. This results in increased guardian health, decreased special ammo availability, and reduced primary ammo weapon forgiveness. There is much more than that to unpack and I talked about it all in today's Destiny 2 video.

I definitely understand the nerfs to threadling hitboxes, but I don’t find threadlings to be too oppressive. They usually move pretty slowly and are easy to avoid if you jump/keep moving. I speak on this as a warlock who uses broodweaver pretty consistently, so the rift may have made threadlings less notable because I can heal. Threadlings really only seemed to be an issue on hunter rather than warlock, so im sad to see this nerf as a warlock

I agree. I don’t think they were oppressive. They were just glitchy at times. However, I personally think they are really stupid and don’t belong in the game so I’m not bothered by the nerf. Plus the nerf didn’t seem too severe so they shouldn’t be ruined for people who do like them

funny how this is almost the same thing that Overwatch 2 did recently. Give everyone Hp increase and buff damage to compensate

Yeah but they are only increasing crit damage to compensate. They are basically doing all of this to lower body shot ttk forgiveness. I saw overwatch f’d up the hit boxes in the latest patch

The gun should be reworked to need a kill to activate that beam. Then they wouldn’t have to nerf its damage. I didn’t even see it much in trials either which is kinda funny

​@FraDestiny I personally disagree, damage nerf is reasonable for how much overkill the beam itself it The fact that trespasser requires a kill feels insane to me knowing devil's ruin is as potent as it is

Forerunner is about to go crazy. 20% increased damage means you can 3-tap any resil again, we might even spawn in with 8 ammo. I just hope that bubbles and wells are actually no longer achievable in 3v3/competitive. If roaming supers are 100% impossible with 100 int, but you might still get a bubble round 8-10 in trials, it's still going to be the meta, and now you might not even have access to conditional for a (semi-) reliably counter.

I got like 5 supers last weekend in checkmate trials out of 70 games. I was running 70 intellect with bubble and well of radiance. They are still going to be the go to supers but keep in mind that they charge at the same speed as stuff like blade barrage. All in all, they are going to be present far less often and require the player to get a lot of kills to charge them

Overall, i agree with a good portion of the changes. But I cannot fathom threadlings being nerfed but not void titan. Really enforcing that whole “titans are the devs’ favorite class” thing. At worst, threaded specter was a nuisance more than it was game deciding. Void titan is game deciding with literally zero drawbacks to using it.

The blanket ability and super nerfs serve as a nerf to void Titan as it basically removes bubble from their kit. But I do agree that I would’ve liked to see one final pass on overshields and barricade hp. But threadlings fully deserve this nerf

Welp I will point out D2 went through a change when Joe Blackburn took control just before "Beyond Light"came out it's pretty much a given the game will under go another change under the new leadership........who just so happens to be a Sony stooge.

Yeah, I’m glad the game is undergoing a big change though. We need a switch up in the sandbox. But seeing the change be one that will slow the game down even with sbmm in the game feels like a mistake at least for quick play.

@@FraDestiny The question is whether or not the change will be good considering it'll now be under direct control of Sony, especially considering Sony itself has just undergone a change of leadership and some restructuring.

Havent played this game on months dont know you as a tuber or even y the algorithm put you on my feed . I played d2 for 8k hrs defended this game for yrs aginst haters . I quit because being good at destiny pvp doesnt mean your even great at pvp period most players that play and try to do well at pvp are utter garbage at most other pvp orientated games . Basicly destiny 2 pvp is a day care center for pretty much just hunters and titans because ease of use is the most important thing in d2 . Next its the cheese and people call that fun . Game is garbage its been garbage and i strongly urfe people to explore other games and you will see how bad bungie fumbled this pos of a game

I’ve put thousands of hours in as well. I’ve always been less apt to defend the game but I still come back to it often. I’ve played a lot of other fps games and the main thing I notice that is better is simply the servers/net code. Trading in Destiny is commonplace and almost expected in every melee battle or shotgun duel. Where as in other fps games you can play without worrying about being killed by people that have been dead for nearly a second on your end.
