The question mark guy's name is Lightman. Lightman doesn't tell you that though, you learn it from talking to Gabryl. Specifically, I talked to Gabryl while he was hanging out in the Treaty Port.

I think there were some updates and they resolve some of untranslated issues, I not sure but by others people interaction, town quest or by the updates the ??? character name is "The Fisherman", and when you pause the game there is an encyclopedia that show you every material or character you encounter or discover, the most hard to find are the sister of the first person that help you, the hidden merchant in a secret spot in the mountains, and a famous adventurer that hardly appear in the town

Yeah I saw the update a few days after this released I think? The developers seem really active with actually listening and implementing feedback. I had trouble getting this game started when they gave me access to the demo, but they resolved it within like an hour or two after a few emails, so kudos to them!
