Doug Christie also brings the best vibes of the early 2000s, as if he's playing again.. Remember he was one of the best defensive players for the Kings during the time of C web, Mike, Vlade, Peja, Jacksons time

It’s just a new coach bounce. They’ll continue to win and then give him the head coach role and then they’ll start being mid again
@adrianpillai664518 сағат бұрын
More the reason to roll with him as interim. However, the key thing that doesn't get mentioned is Brown had the players on ridiculously short leashes. Make 1 error, he pulls you. Miss 14 3's, he keeps you in. Keeps telling you to fire away. Coach brown is a very good coach. But just because Fox and Sabonis respond to tough love, doesn't mean all players respond positively to that. Sometimes it takes a kind word and patience.

That's what I thought, they better keep him like this until the kings reach the playoffs😅.... But I still wish DC gets the title at some point

Mike Brown was good when he surprised the league during that year with the Kings, but it became predictable last year. It was made worse this year when both Keegan and Huerter (who were critical during that season) couldn't hit a 3. That's why Keon should have been playing a lot more

This is a huge risk, focusing on Doug Christie as the key to the Kings' success. It's a risk because it repeats the mistake that was made in 2022-23, attributing the Kings' success that year to Mike Brown. For some reason, everybody seems to forget that, unlike the NCAA, the NBA is a players' league. It is the Kings players that are producing this newfound success, not Christie. When Brown was voted coach of the year in 2023, he basically believed his own press clippings and then set about attempting to transform the Kings into his (defensive) image from 2023-2024. In the process, his autocratic coaching style generated mountains of negativity, alienating the locker room, even as Brown's congenial press room presence kept the Kings' press corps completely fooled and shocked when he was fired. So the lesson is, keep the focus on the players, and Doug Christie can continue in his important supportive role, without the temptation to start exercising autocratic coaching control over the players.

I think its gonna be a tight rope to walk picking between Monk and Keon for the starting spot. I think Keon has a smaller ego so we should have Monk in the starting spot and Give Keon all the backup Monk and DeRozan minutes. That seems like the perfect middle where we'll get a lot of Keon time and keep monk in the starting 5.

At that moment the perspective was "this front office made a irrational decision because they can't make a roster move" and I personally thought that was a terrible move, it is rarely ever the head coaches fault so yes at that time I was against the firing. BUT I have ALWAYS hated Mike Brown's rotations when it came to Keon Ellis, I could care less about everything else, that was ALWAYS what I disliked about him.
@AndrewKW1212 сағат бұрын
@@KingCharge even worse than that imo is that all the players clearly lost their joy and MB lost the locker room. But Sac media pushed the narrative that the roster was trash even though nearly all of us liked it heading into the season

@@KingCharge Absolutely roster has its flaws and I haven't encountered a single Kings fan who thinks it's perfect. But it has not been trash in a few years and most of us expected around 50 wins just looking at the roster entering the season
