Here is my review, comparing to DD1: -DD1 has 999 limit storage, I didnt get close in 150 hours of picking everything I wanted, DD2 has a really stupid 99 limit, for absolutely no reason. -DD1 has better character movement (walking, running, jumping). -DD1 has a better "weapon/armor to size of the world" ratio (since its smaller). -DD1 rewards exploration with better weapons in chests and bone piles, DD2 never offers better weapons exploring, they're all through merchants. -DD1 chests respawn. -DD1 has a better difficulty curve, postgame goblins will humble you even if you overfarmed. -Economy system in DD1 allows you to sell from inventory because selling is relevant because exploring is relevant because acquiring material gives you money. -DD2 butchered vocations by combining them or removing their best features (double jump without using skills and rolling like in dark souls assassin). -Small details like worse openning chests animations. -B button being Talk/Run is incredibly stupid, cant be customized, and its useless since running is already in L3 joystick. Makes you bump all the time, or fall if you're trying to pick something close to a cliff. DD2 is not bad, but it has rolled back things that were better in DD1. And its painful for people who has the ability to notice them. Improvements: -More skills per character. -Oxcarts are awesome, ropeways are awesome. -Cooking meat and camping is awesome. -Interesting vocations (but there was no need to remove mystic knight to add mystic spear). -Huge, huge world. -Riding beasts mechanics. -Better dragonforging. -Very cool smithing system, but needs patching to increase/reduce damages so dwarven is not the clear option. -Better AI pawn system once its refined (my pawns stuck in a cliff running towards the mountain is way too common).

I've got about 60 hours in and I just can't stop exploring. The world is incredible. There are caves and secrets everywhere, and I'm guessing you could do 5 playthroughs and not see everything.

No actually you can thank gamers for demanding better graphics and frame rates every single generation, to the point where making a AAA game on this level takes anywhere from 5-8 years, takes 200-400 people working on it and can cost over 150m in costs. In 1994 AAA games took 18 months to 2 years to develop, would require 50-80 people working on them and would cost between $40-$50. Just based on INFLATION alone, the $40 you paid in 1994 is now worth 95 today 😂. So technically you're meant to actually be paying MORE than $70 for your games just based on INFLATION, if you actually include the additional resources needed to make those games, your average AAA game is meant to cost you $150-$200 😂.

Idk, i mean its a sequel to a game that came out a decade ago, and actually feels and plays like the original including the quirks, which is refreshing for me since usualy in that scenario the late sequel would barely resemble the original. I can see it appearing outdated, but to me its less aboug being dated and more about being in the style the og had. Its not for everyone, but man it is for me.

7 months and 550 hrs later, I'm still enjoying the game I still manage to find something new like an unexplored cave or undiscovered chest/loot item. Also with each new patch update I find the devs give my pawn 1 or 2 new animations on top of patches and fixes.

The 30 frames limit to get good quality seems like a big miss in 2024. Starfield had the same issue at launch but rectified it. Granted very different games with different issues mainly but hopefully DD2 can get 60fps with good graphics on console. Idk both to me don’t have much excuses on that front.

I played up until the post game upon release and sorta just stopped playing. I just finished it today, and omg, the ending was so fricken sad. This game says so much about the incomprehensible nature of human will and the sadness of letting go and the fear of change. What a masterpiece. The gameplay wasn't revolutionary, but the story is insane especially since i put hundreds of hours into the first one it hit so hard i nearly cried when the dragon says they wont get to see what happens next

Almost finished the game. In general i do think the first is stronger, but there are defenitely aspects where the second takes triumph. The main 2 being graphical phidelity (this game is just plain gorgeous) and the open world. Also the post-game. I did not expect the setting to go full apocalyptic.

Theres so much division in games these days.. and I think it comes down to price. A game like this is worth a shot for $30 US. But the problem these days with game releases (it should be illegal) is that companies are releasing games that are technically still in beta and having bugs worked out constantly. Thats fine, but why should antone pay $70 - $100 US to have a broken game that you are testing for them? Maybe just give people what they paid for at release and you wouldn't have your players constantly holding grudges for have to play broken games for a year and then get the updates after they beat the story twice.. 😂

Since the borders are technically hundreds and hundreds of miles long, people slip in over the border all the time, but checkpoints are 100% guarded and patrols are designated to the non-checkpoint areas to check for people crossing the borders.

Can't stand the save game system. I've had to reload 6 times so far to get medusas head. I cut its head off got the trophy but the head is no where to be found. The one time I got the head did the griffon statute quest and the statue fell apart before the sculpture could sculpt it. I gave it a solid 6 out of 10. Barely want to play it anymore.

I bought it this morning bc of the Steam sale. I am going through it very slowly. The side quests are a little annoying at times and the graphics are not that great imo. I have a 3060. I try to optimize the graphics and it just made it worse so i went back to default, lol. The story, RPG elements, and customization are great tho! I am having fun.

The game is just ok... Ultimately it feels like a giant step backwards, except for the fact the game is bigger and prettier. I don't understand how you add things in the DLC for the first game, that improved it... Then totally not add these and improve upon them for the second. Also, everything seems to not matter much, the gear/weapons, quest, and even the pawn inclinations. This game was obviously rushed and not given much care, and totally wasn't worth it's initial price, and I have no idea how in the hell they got nominated or whatever. I love DD, but this game does not deserve any reward as it basically feels like a watered down version of the first game.

I just watched the video. I haven't played the game but i still felt the same way based on the few gameplays i saw. AI isn't good and the damn voice lines are annoying and idk why is the voice deep on every character. But not just deep it felt like they copy pasted one voice with just 100 versions of it being deep voice. And the thing u mentioned balut graphics and stuff being quirky seems good way of explaining how it felt for me. Just the motion of running or how characters talk in this game. Idk it all seems quirky. Although i wish it was otherwise. Game had potential but felt like it didn't go as far as it could have

@@limeypam No it does not at all. There is no enemy scaling. Have you even played the game? Once you reach like level 50 all enemies are a cake walk and you can reach that just by doing the content in the game well before you are close to the end of the story. There is no scaling in NG+at all.
