Yass. Try with sticky rice next time if you have time. Btw, it is true what you said. The already open durian that they wrap with the tapau is not that good. Unless they open right in front of you and put into that tapau. Cuz the taste will change. Some seller even sell that already open durian that already become sour. Just look inside the plastic wrap if they a water forming inside it. I theres is water or mist inside the plastic wrap. Better dont buy. That durian might slowly tasre sour and will be rotten in few days.

What gred of durian did you buy?is it musang king?or d24. I think you buy musang king. Cuz you said its expensive. Musang king is the king of durian in malaysia right now. But i heard there 1 more new type that can challenge musang king throne. The Black Thorn durian.

I am quite lucky because in my whole live, I never bought durians. My hometown, my neighbors, and my workplace.. everyone gave it to me for free 😆😭

It depends. There will be a bunch of normal or durian kampung for you to choose. I think it’s around rm10-15 per kilo. Few days ago I bought 1 for only Rm12.

it is expensive at big city like in KL however in rural area like Muar/Batu Pahat Johor, it could go as cheap as RM5 per kilo depending on Durian Type.

That durian kampung. Durian with gred like D24, Red Prawn, Musang King, they have fix price ranging from let say 20-30 per kg. Musang king can go up to 40-50 per kg. And new type the Black Thorn durian can go even higher and more expensive cuz its rarity.

Durian is cheaper in my hometown at Sarawak. You can get up to 5 whole durians for rm15-Rm20 only. I was durian overloaded everytime the season came.

Usually the durian that become squishy-ish, flaccid-ish, we will make them as tempoyak. Just separate the seed from durian and keep the durian in a jar. Leave it in a cold place such as the chiller section in refrigerator or a cabinet or anywhere that doesn't get sun rays or sudden hot temperature. Leave it for 3-4 weeks then you get tempoyak. There are various recipes of tempoyak that you can googled it.

Durian is in season now. A lot of stalls selling durian by the streets so it is cheaper. But of course the tastiest is still quite expensive 😂

my late grandparent has a few durians tree behind their house in the village. Whenever its durian season, we would go to their house and wait for the Durian to fall down from the tree. You can really hear the thumping sound of the Durian when it hits the ground. We would pick it up in the morning, open it and went straight to eat it. Even its not Musang King or D24, fresh durian will ALWAYS taste better than the one you buy from the store, with way less foul smell, and this is coming from someone who doesnt really like eating Durian :D

Its durian season now! My uncle own a big durian farm and even created his own durian by combining two different type of durian. Farmers know what I mean. He called it Durian Bunga Merah and it taste so sweet yet so delicious. I hope I can taste it again because it's always sold out fast T^T

we Only sell/eat fully ripe durian. Even the cheapest durian still taste good. Take jade’s durian experience at London for example, that durian may be a few week after it was plucked. Not only that, bad handling also. But if you want to experience the best durian, you need to go to the farm where you able to taste freshly fall from tree durian. Now it’s durian season in Penang 😊

The taste depend on what gred is the durian. Musang King, D24, Kucing Tidur & etc. For me I like the bitter one.. my fav is durian kampung..😍 Happy to see Jade get over the bad taste abt durian.

To blimey..i recommend for you to try another type of malaysian durian known as lukak. Lukak is native durian from sarawak that have yellow skin and bright orange flesh. and it taste like peanut butter..

If you went to the big city like Kuala Lumpur, Durians are expensive than the orchard in villages. You should try travel to some orchard in villages. it is probably cheap than the city one and fresh from tree! You should come in Durian Season ! 🌸🌸

Currently if you're staying around Selangor and go to Hulu Langat, you can get durian as low as Rm6 per kg for durian kg, I think this is one of the best price we can get for now. Last week I go there just for to eat durian, so far very satisfied

Try the Durian that just drop from its tree. Go to the orchard... You will taste the difference... Most Durian you get in the market will be at least 2 days...
