The reason you can hear ABBA in the song is that is heavily grounded in Swedish folk music as is most of the music coming out from Sweden is. You hear it in Opeth, Amaranthe, ABBA, Roxette and every other band/artist that come out of Sweden. In fact our cadre of music producers with Max Martin as the front figure makes everyone from back street boys, Taylor Swift and The Weekend do Swedish folk music hooks and riffs. Not to mention Yngwie that does not even try to hide it. Swedish folk music is not about being sparse, it is complicated and happy sounding. A 3/4ths back beat (beats on 3 and 1 with an accentuated 1). Example: Two pieces played by Mia Marin kzbin.info/www/bejne/iqnLmqCJjMR8fMU Example: (a wordless song) kzbin.info/www/bejne/jnjcl3iYg9uWY8k Example: A near thousand year song (first part of the video). Two lines: There he is. Close to land. kzbin.info/www/bejne/bH3acoFnjdmZhNE Second part of that song you can hear a lyric but also the wordless singing that has bronze age history. Example: Traditional Cattle call and communication singing. kzbin.info/www/bejne/j6qcYaqQl8qjn6c
