There no such thing as scarcity of land in a virtual world, simple economics people are buying the pieces of land in hope that some day people will join the game and pay them for staying in their land, or hoping that the demand rises above the supply levels, but here's the catch earth.io can just copy and paste the modules and run another server with another Manhattan and other cities, so there will be infinite supply of land and you'll have to lower the prices that you're selling your land for, given the infinitely number of people that will also be selling the exact piece of land as yours. There's so much technical aspects to this, and I wonder if this so called "virtual world" will ever see the light of day, its been more than a year and still on phase 1 seems pretty sketchy to me.

I would simplify this scheme by presenting my case. I bought a piece of land on the market for 6 dollars, but the price of that piece of land determined by the game was 10 dollars, so my "net worth" after purchase jumped from 6 to 10 dollars. Crazy, right? Then I put that piece of land for sale for 5 dollars, and guess what, nobody bought it from me yet. In the meantime the price of the land went up, and now I am worth 11 dollars even though I can't sell it for 5.

The fact that they don't have a clear vision for the game, and released a vaporware investment market first, before even a smidgen of gameplay was presented, is very telling. @Notjimmymaio3 жыл бұрын
Yeah it can go either way. The very first Ponzi Scheme was started by Charles Ponzi. He wanted to create a legit business but realized later that it was impossible since he promised too much returns to his customers. E2 does not directly promise returns but infer value in your land. It might look like your net worth is growing but you will almost never get that price in the marketplace. The problem with E2 is that credit > actual money on the platform, which can potentially led to them use your money to pay for someone else's withdrawal. The biggest red flag right now is that you have to beg for your money back from them. I cant say for sure what is going on and I honestly don't know but please be careful and don't invest what you cant afford to lose.

You aren't just buying virtual land with nothing else backing it up. You are buying space in a VR platform for plans they have in the future. Their end goal is to have a self sustaining online economy where people can build on or rent out their properties. Imagine taking out your phone anywhere in the world and seeing what others built around you. Or perhaps you might see it on your google glasses! Imagine Pepsi paying you to have their virtual logo on your property. This is just speculation but theres a lot of potential here! Unlike bitcoin theres some real value backed in owning these tiles.

And yes, i have withdrawn funds twice now. It did take around 10 days to complete the transactions though. People laughed at bitcoin too. It was .03 cents in 2012. Now its 31,000 bucks ! If you had invested 1 dollar, you wouldnt have to work anymore for the rest of your life. All for a dollar. Dont be scared to try new things. Just dont invest more then you are comfortable to lose. Its new. Its gonna take a little time. I suggest getting in and just treating it as a game. Like the auction house on Warcraft or any other MMO game. Buy 1 tile in USA and hold it. What can it hurt. All investments have risks. Just dont get left holding the bag. If you want an investment that you can totally ignore, buy land. Plain, simple, land. Its stable.

Is real land purchase also a heist? You don't understand the world. They offer a second different virtual space connected to the real world. If you want to have it then you can purchase it. If not then don't purchase. That's a private decision and no heist. I am invested in earth2 because I want to open a virtual store in E2. What kind of heist is it if I get what I purchased? That's the next technological revolution people want to enable by micro-funding. So what is so wrong with this genius idea? Please check the persons behind this brilliant idea. Unfortunately this too is a misleading representation of the platform, some quick checks show China is not, nor has ever been close to being valued at 30USD per tile. The price in France was not a glitch, that value is scaled off the Market - i.e someone has sold land in that country for that amount recently, this is true for the economy as a whole, people have the option of paying more for something than it is actually worth. Almost every other point in this video also holds true for any other form of monetary investment.
@serafal2113 жыл бұрын
Interesting points you make but most of them are already proven false for example the theory that they can change the prices how much they want that is true, they could do that. But the costs for a tile is calculated trough P= 0.1e^(x) where x is the amount of tiles sold in a given country. For example america sold 591659 tiles it means P= 0.1e^(5.91659) = 36.77. And when america has sold 690k tiles P= 0.1e^(6.9) = 99.22 meaning 1 tile costs 99.22 which should be correct. This function proves true for nearly every country not including pump and dumps ;)
@Notjimmymaio3 жыл бұрын
I don't think it's a pump and dump but the game algorithm provides misleading returns to the users. Most players get a fraction of what the game prices their land for and buying new land will immediately set you up at a 20% to 50% loss
