Is Edmond, Oklahoma the Perfect Place to Live?

Great homes! I grew up in Edmond. The 2nd and 3rd homes are less than half a block away from each other, so technically they are both in North Edmond since they're both just south of Covell. The 2nd house being in Brookhaven is one of those mid 70's homes that went up when the baby boomers were moving into town and Brookhaven (and Rock Creek across Bryant) were built when the area was still full of trees. I'm glad Edmond has put forth such effort to preserve the natural beauty of the landscape in the city and amplified it with public art.

Thanks for the comment! Yes, those two homes are both near Covell and Bryant. I agree that Edmond has done a good job with both natural landscaping and public art. It's been fun to watch the city evolve.

How about tornadoes in this area? Do homes get destroyed every few years as a result of tornadoes?

Edmond does experience occasional tornadoes but the percentage of Edmond homes which have been destroyed by those is very small. Below is a dataset going back to 1950. Looking at the map, you’ll notice very few of the larger tornadoes (F3-F5) tracking through Edmond. Also, bear in mind these numbers encompass the entire state of Oklahoma, not just the OKC metro: data.oklahoman.com/tornado-archive/
