I don't know why anyone would keep antibiotics. If you're prescribed antibiotics, you're usually told to finish the whole course, even if you've recovered midway through. This is important to prevent antibiotics misuse. When used inappropriately, it can result in serious infections, longer recovery time, and loss of effectiveness for future treatments, due to infections becoming antibiotic-resistant. And if you're told to stop taking them once you've recovered, then the rest should be thrown away instead of kept for the next illness. You don't know if the next illness requires antibiotics or not, and even if it does, you won't know if what you have is appropriate or sufficient for the illness. All of us need to do our part to prevent antibiotics resistance. Otherwise, new, stronger antibiotics will need to be developed to combat the same infections and they'll very likely cost more and may have greater side effects too.

Medicine in tablet forms are now in blister packs. As long as they are stored in cool, dark places as well as there are no puncture holes, they are generally saved to be consumed even they have passed the expiry dates. Liquid medicine better be kept in the fridge. Antibiotics on the other hand once expired better to be discharged. Also once started a course of antibiotics, the entire course had to be consumed. Many people often never complete the course and often save the remaining antibiotic medicine. Because of not completing the course, the surviving germs may become stronger and the remaining antibiotics may no longer effective. Eye drops should be discharged once they are expired as it become contaminated with germs that can be harmful to eyes.

I struggled to do all the OTC things for 4 days and go progressively worse. The weekend started the next day and I would not be able to get an apt t. So I looked up what I was prescribed back in 2014 when I last had it and immediately started the clyndamycin. After the second dose the symptoms started to subside and on Monday i got my Teledoc aptmt and was prescribed clyndamycin. So it worked and it helped.

Expired medicine is safe, as long as it's sealed and not open, but the effects of medicine that's expired is not that 100 percent effective, compared to a medicine that's not expired. But for me I suggest not to take expired medicine because it's not that 100 percent safe, it's unsure, 50/50 safe or not safe.. You can take a medicine that expired maybe at least weeks ago, 1 month ago or 2 months ago... You need to still check it in the Laboratory if the medicine is still safe to eat, take or drink.. There some expired medicine that will change by its texture, color, taste and etc. that can also affects serious illness or diseases. It's better not to take a medicine that is expired. Well it's up to you. :)

“Healthcare is a need and not a commodity,” said Dr. Gomez, to drive home the point that for-profit healthcare systems have failed to support citizens in the fringes of our society. It is noteworthy to mention what Dr. Chee Soon Juan said in his opening remarks, that some Singaporeans have told him, “it is better to die than to fall sick in Singapore.” He has taken heed and it seems like he has gone all out to ensure that no sick man goes untreated, no family needs to be financially burdened when their loved ones fall sick and most importantly, everyone in Singapore has access to basic healthcare.
