Is Film Ferrania Dead..?

hi i'm from italy, and as i managed to talk to a store that sells film in italy where i live, i got a news today that Ferrania had some troubles yes but now got an actual new ownership, and a board of directors is up and ferrania is planning to start production again in the next few weeks, and for italian retailer new film stocks will arrive probably in spring, so let's hope for the best also the last production bit is not present in italian version of the store on the ferrania website, so i don't know for that

Their website is loading fine for me now. I think it might be a misunderstanding, at least I hope it is.

Except all stocks are sold out -- except for P30 in 35mm, and as Metal Fingers noted, you can't order that from the US. It does look like the moved the website to a new hosting platform, but the website content is the same as it was a week ago on the previous platform.

@@aengusmacnaughton1375 Ferrania has been out of stock other times in the past; I don't think they manufacture film all the time and supplies end up running out, so this isn't entirely unusual for them, but who knows now.

They are my number 1 favorite film company.i love p30. Nothing else comes close for me. I would rather any other film company go away before ferrania. With any luck they will have a bright future!

I schoot so little black and white film . I think my lab carries it. Ferrania was supposed to make a color film along with the black and white but It did not materialize.

they definitely were testing it about a year ago which means it has been in development for quite some time. Whatever happened the past year probably stopped any progress on it though

You can only have it delivered in Italy (I'm Italian and I live in Ireland), the only locations in the dropdown menus are in Italy...

I wouldn't read too much in the "last production" thing, it's possible they will stop producing P30 to focus on new stocks (with a higher ISO - my understanding is that it is easier to produce low ISO film so that was probably a good way for them to restart production and fund the next film stock).

Their website displays an error everytime at checkout with paypal, so even if you lived in Italy, you wouldn't be able to buy any (or maybe with another method of payment).

P30 is a magnificent stock. There is still some available in the US and I ordered a bunch on Tuesday when I saw that the main site was down. I am on their site now. P30 in 120 is not available but it is in 35mm.

Well, the non-responsiveness of Film Ferrania is a known problem with them from the time they started the Kickstarter campaign (which I backed). But it would be indeed sad if they would go down, since P30 is a truly unique film stock (that I bought when first available to backers). We'll see.

I bought five rolls of their film back about 2018. I was not impressed. I only shot two rolls and then unloaded the rest on Ebay at a small profit. Hope whoever bought it had better luck than I did!

Kickstarter isn't an investment, the people complaining are not at all justified, whether you say it or not.

I checked the site and it is working fine. But yes only film that we can buy is P30 😮 but maybe they will produce more i hope 🤞
