I guess not having to worry so much about life (employment, healthcare, etc.) is a big part of the happiness here. Knowing that there's a very decent safety net there for you no matter what your situation in life is.

Independence bites better even when it sometimes hurts. Just say it: "it's good for me". You can see 5yr old kids alone on the bus in the evenings. They are not lost, they travel. The weather has very little effect, as it is the only reality from birth.

You had some errors: currently the US has a higher suicide rate than Finland. And when it comes to COVID vaccinations: the EU countries got fooled by the drug giants. Despite that, over 85 % of the people that are over 80 have been vaccinated with one dose. Finland has decided to put vaccinate many people with one dose as there are too few vaccines. (The EU is exporting around 50 % of its vaccine production whereas the US exports 0 %.)

It's awesome that if your get sick you will be taken care and it don't bankrupt you. Your childen can study as high than they want even if you don't have a high income. If you lost your job you can learn a new trade to the area what has a more openings or just upgrade your current profession. Suicide fact just doesn't go away. Finland is now EU average not the 2nd after the Japan as it was during 90's 🤔

It's definitely the vodka culture that's killing people in Finland. The same applies to parts of Russia and Sweden as well. It's comparable to the opioid crisis in the US but has always existed.

Hi! I'm glad to hear you enjoy my videos. There are Indian students in my high school. I say don't be scared making friends might be a little hard at first but you just have to have a open mindset and try to talk to people. I'm sure people will mingle with you, just don't get discourage if people don't mingle with your right away. Finnish people are quite shy so it takes time for them to open up. You will be fine don't worry 😊

Hello Mina, I'm coming from Canada with my 10 and 4 years old kids. Can you give me some ideas of English-speaking schools for my kids? Thanks :)
@MinaAbiye3 жыл бұрын
Hi! I have some schools for you in Helsinki, Espoo and Vantaa. In Helsinki, Ressu requires entrance exams and Maunula (which I don't recommend). However, I think Espoo is the best for the four-year-old I would highly recommend H & S International school oy ( Your school Olari). My little brother went there and loved it. The teacher and atmosphere are just great and very welcoming. For the ten-year-old, I would highly recommend Espoo International School (EIS) both my siblings attend there and love them; however, it is difficult to get into. There is also the International School of Vantaa, similar to EIS. Most other English schools in Finland are private and require you to pay a lot of money. Speaking from experience, although Finland is known for having the best education, it does not have the best education for English speakers. If you have any more questions, please feel free to contact me through my email @keepingitupwithmina@gmail.com or any of my social media accounts!

Nice video, but some fact correction. The USA has higher suicide rates than Finland. Suicide rates by country in 2016 (per 100 000 people, age-adjusted) 34.United States rate: both sexes 13.7 Males 21.1 Females 6.4 51.Finland rate: both sexes 11.7 Males 15.8 Females 7.4 en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_countries_by_suicide_rate
@MinaAbiye3 жыл бұрын
yes when looking at statistics it might be like that! however when thinking about the population size it’s a HUGE difference so it’s not really fair to compare the two countries.
@5000Kone3 жыл бұрын
@@MinaAbiye Thank you for your answer, but do take these statics and facts to consideration: Per capita means in this case per 100 000 people, so it takes into count the population size. The highest suicide rate in the world according to those statics in the link is in Guyana. Guyana has only a population of 743,704, 164th smallest nations in the world. Russia has the third-highest suicide rate in the world, 26.5, even its population is 146,171,015, so less than half of the population of the USA. Lithuania has the highest suicide rate in the EU in 2016 statics, rate of 25.7 and population only about 2,793,694. 34.United States rate: both sexes 13.7 Finland has way higher numbers in the 90ś. Highest in know Finnish history. The suicide numbers in statics started to rise in the 50ś and were at the top in the 90ś and now are back to the same level as in the fifties. So when I look at the statics, it seems that a) country size plays a really small role, there are small and big countries in the high end, and in the low end and b) it seems that these statics can be changed through social programs, healthcare reforms, etc en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_countries_by_suicide_rate
@5000Kone3 жыл бұрын
@@MinaAbiye Here you can see the development of Finnish suicide rates. images.cdn.yle.fi/image/upload//w_1198,h_674,f_auto,fl_lossy,q_auto:eco/13-3-7134820.jpg yle.fi/uutiset/3-7132456 Today there is less than half of the number of suicides that there were in the 90ś in Finland per capita. In the nineties, the rates in Finland were way higher than in the USA, more than double the amount than today's USA, and now they are a little lower per capita. then in the USA.

Aren’t we all Africans? Tiina tomera, how come you are bullying two young ladies who seem to be far smarter than you?? Lovely to have you here girls ❣️ I enjoyed my time in American high school. It was interesting to hear your views, it seems to me that lot have changed since I was in US 20 years ago -for the better 😁 ! Listen, this happiest place on earth is little bit misleading. When I was in Kenya everybody was smiling, even those who were inhaling glue or other chemicals, but they weren’t content with their lives. It’s not a smiling competition. So when you are thinking about it as “the most content people in the world “ it makes more sense, right! 😘
