I used to live literally across the road from the Kitseküla station and work in Ülemiste City... took me 6 minutes to get to work, no traffic lights, perfect! Got home after work faster than people warmed up their cars in the parking lot :)

There are already a couple track sections with 140 km/h, eventually most of the network will be 160 km/h.
@drdewott9154 Жыл бұрын
Thats great to hear. The Estonian rail network looks to have a bright future by the sounds of it.
@fhiaty4157 Жыл бұрын
Does the train also drive 140km/h?
@KrK-EST Жыл бұрын
@@fhiaty4157 Yes, the sections the OP meant in these sections the train has that speed. The current speed is shown inside in the digital tabloo with the stops. Tallinn - Türi rail section sadly is not allowed to have higer speed in many parts due to the marshlands(nature reserves/parks), so it will boost to over 120 in several parts but also will move like 60kmh in others.

From my knowledge its going to be 140 once the new trains arrive, however I doubt any large projects regarding the rest of the rail, based on the difficult financial situation

Thank you for making this video - Estonia looks really beautiful and green. I have been pausing your video and following your journey on Google Maps. I really like those Flirt trains, you see them quite often in Europe (unfortunately, I am an Australian, so I only see them when I am visiting Europe). I was surprised that Tallinn's main station doesn't have a larger roof. I thought it would be more enclosed because of all the snow and freezing winds coming off the Gulf of Finland.
@BalticTraveller Жыл бұрын
Thank you! I’m happy you did enjoy the video! It's an interesting question why there isn't a larger roof in the main station, but as a small European country, we don't have as much train traffic as larger European countries, so maybe the government didn't think it was necessary to build one. 🙂

I expect to see how the train looks inside, but the whole trip to watch how the greens grow outside)))

I'm sorry if this video didn't meet your expectations :(
@drdewott9154 Жыл бұрын
Well there are many other trip reports on Elrons trains across youtube so it shouldnt be too hard for you to find something. Plus basically all of their trains are identical inside so theres that too.

A note: residents of Tallinn "were" able to use trains for free inside city limits - now only the electric trains are free, on diesel you still pay

first class also quarantees you a table, electrical outlet and wifi access(which is not that great). Meaning if you bring a laptop with you for work for example, you can.
@eksiarvamus Жыл бұрын
I ride the Estonian trains quite often. The first class is definitely worth it if you want a guaranteed seat. It's really the only way.
@Yowhatdadogdoin Жыл бұрын
- "a guaranteed seat" EXACTLY.
@timokriis8 ай бұрын
First class is absolutely worth it - You get a certain seating place, in case it's overcrowded, You'll have to stand in second class. You get a sepatated class area, a table to put laptop and watch movies etc.
@copierdutes7 ай бұрын
Do i need to purchase only 1 class ticket for ride? Or 1 class ticket+ ticket?
@timokriis7 ай бұрын
@@copierdutes You just buy either 1st or 2nd class ticket. I´m not sure if its possible to upgrade to 1st class. Anyway when entering 1st class area, You can see whether seat is already booked - the badge over seat is green or red.

We have plenty of those FLIRTs in Finland, but they are only used on commuter traffic. For long distance we have different style of rolling stock.

Good video!!!!! but as a train fan I'll make some corrections: I'm at 1:20 in the video where you have stated the building to be closed, well it's written on the board that they have moved, you could have a loon at the new lobby, it is right next to circle K with a big round roof:) (more coming in reply)

And well, you know what... i have nothing else to say, everything you said and did was correct. Thank you for visiting and we hope to see you traveling with ELRON again soon😊

Nahh, its not worth it better to go by bus which one has entertainment system, also coffee in the bus. I started travelling locally, not narva. I don't think so its worthy enough to make you choose train instead of buses.

Good point. Trains would be justified if they were a lot faster.
