Is Flex Tape Really As Strong As Those Commercials Claim?

According to the commercial for Flex Tape, it's so strong it can plug a hole underwater, lift a 45-pound weight and even patch up a boat that has been sawed in half. But is it all just advertising hype? Inside Edition's Chief Investigative Correspondent Lisa Guerrero bought a boat and cut it in half, just like the commercial, to see if Flex Tape could help it work on the water. 1: The boat you used was a different shape and size than Phil’s. The flex tape crew used multiple layers of tape and took as much time as possible to smooth it out and keep it sealed. 2:We only saw the tape hold up for 3 reps. There’s also the possibility of multiple layers used. 3: This is the only accurate test. Flex tape works as advertised.

I love how Flex Tape is just BARELY misleading. It could do all that stuff as I’m the commercial, but just not as a permanent fix. Me and my father have been using flex paste on our camper for years, and every crack, and hole we’ve patched up hasn’t opened. It’s an old camper, and we need to get the roof completely replaced. But every temporary repair has actually been quite permanent.

A lot of it depends on how you apply it. If you leave air bubbles in and dont make sure it's stuck completely against the surface of whatever you're applying it to, it wont work properly
