I lived in Key West when I was young and free. I totally loved the winters. My oldest daughter walked down the aisle to somewhere over the rainbow. So I always tear up when I hear it. It was her favorite song when she was a baby also.

My fav memory of RVing at Curry Hammock State Park: walking on the beach with my morning coffee, watching dolphins playing/splashing around just15' from the water's edge! It's beautiful watching the wind surfers here too. Love the FL State Park system - definitely the best in the US. Not only great parks on the water - also great parks in the interior of the state (check out Peace River State Park). This is what RVing is all about!!

We were just there 2 weeks ago on site 17. It is a beautiful, relaxing state park. Just so everyone is aware, as of this past July 2021, Florida State Parks has added a utility fee of $7.00 per night.

Wow thanks! I love the Keys!!! The tunnels are so fun but be careful during the times tides are changing, I’ve seen rivers turn into raging rivers. At the KOA in Sugarloaf you can paddle out to the huge mango trees out by the edge of the ocean, pretty neat. You have to paddle awhile to get out there. In Key West I found a very short tunnel but it was crystal clear and there were bright red star laying on the bottom-so neat!!! It is a beautiful place to visit, water so aqua it is almost white sometimes.

Going "out" to dinner? May I recommend two places...1st is Lazy Days up in Islamorada (79 MM), or for Cuban go to Habanos (73.5 MM). Took our catch from the "Seahorse" to Habanos at the recommendation of skipper Rick R.. Those are just two of our favorite places...there are waaay too many more to mention...That said, if you get to Key West; Five Brothers Grocery (by the cemetery) for Cuban Coffee & Cubano sandwiches😉😋. Oh man, now you've got me thinking...we gotta get back to the Keys👍🏻🤣

You need a longer rope for your anchor. The flotation of the kayaks compounded by the wind is why they’re leaving. If you had 15-20’ of rope, it’d likely do its job.

The keys are well worth it if you like the keys life style. One of my favorite places to be. The mangrove trail is much better at low tide you don't have to do the limbo.

Great video and information on this state park. It is on my list but is very difficult to book sites. Back in May 2019, I was able to book a week at Bahia Honda state park which is further south towards Key West. Like Curry Hammock, Bahia Honda is an island only available to campers, boaters and day users.

My wife and I were at the Island Fish Co. last year and sat in the same table! Guys were cleaning fish at the dock and throwing the leftovers in the water creating a mini feeding frenzy with small sharks and tarpon. Enjoyed the video. Thanks

Really great to see the area. Next May I can't wait, all the way to Miami for my wife's work then Key West and Key Largo. This has been something I have wanted to do for at least 25+ years. Excited would be a huge understatement. This is a dream come true. Been to Daytona, West Palm multiple times, and Fort Lauderdale, as well as Orlando and Pensacola which I love a lot. I never realised how many times we've been to Florida, guess we'll just cancel the trip. NOT!!!!! No way am I passing up the chance to make this trip with the Rig. it's going to be so much fun and then in 21 back in Feb. for Speedweeks at Daytona. The reason it’s so expensive is very limited space in the keys it it was $100 a night it would still be full. Nice hotels there are minimum $170 per night. Watch out, they say $129 on their sight but by the time you pay all the taxes it’s $170. I just stayed there in October.

Yeah we were Camp two spots or three spots down from you. We were van camping and also had a tent setup. I don't know if you know it but when I was tying off the tent Not only was the iguanas but I almost stepped on a python in between the campsites where they had little bushes. You may have heard me screaming like a girl. Are you going back there?

Contemplating Van life vs RV life. Any advice? Recently road tripped with my car and I'd like to be a lot more comfortable. Although I'm small so it had it's advantages.
