Still terrible. Now it's basically just a single shot huntsman sniper. Its the same structure damage as the huntsman, does only slightly more damage than the huntsman, and on top of that it shoots once versus the 3 you get with the huntsman. Honestly if they were gonna nerf a perfect sniper they never should of brought it back

@@demireapers1013 i never really liked the heavy sniper at all but used it in creative when it did 150+ damage or to pierce builds but after the damage got nerfed i never used it again they should keep the structure damage at 550 so you can penetrate player builds but not brick walls from buildings like the white ones in tilted for example then its either a rush in to the opponets box tool or a heavy damaging shot that gives you the advantage in a fight straight away

The problem is that the heavy sniper is now just a worse bolt action sniper. The whole gimmick of the weapon was to shoot slow but instead be able to do massive structure damage. Without the massive build damage, it is just a slow firing bolt.

Exactly If they’re going to remove most of the things that made it unique, and turn it into a Bolt Action that has a slower reload time but one shots wood walls (and let’s be honest, who builds in wood outside of early game anyways), they might as well leave it alone, vault it, and replace it with the Bolt Action

The selling point of the heavy sniper was that it could break walls and get one hit kills. Of course it's not viable when they nerf the entire point of its existence, so no, it's still useless, and you can't justify them making a really bad change

Essentially, a basic Bolt Sniper is straight up better. Sure, it's weaker, but so much faster. Hunter Bolt & especially the Reaper is countless times better than the modern Heavy. Sure, the Heavy still does 25% extra damage to structures, but the Railgun maintains the ability to one-shot structures & potentially damage the enemy or break two structures.

theyre doing all this cuz of the fact that ranked and pubs share the same loot pool, and comp uses ranked rules now. this is a decent way to fix it, now its like the og deagle but not as spammy. some people said the one shot ability should be rarity based which also coulda been useful but it has to be rare enough that it wont be spammed across the lobby.

It still can almost one shot a slightly damaged 800 hp car or a bike, as it does a damage near the 660s to vehicles, so it's great in FFA games with the main focus being cars. Even more if you can grab 3 of them, as 3 mythics (maybe legendaries too) of them will destroy every single vehicle in the game, so you can destroy the tank, the Trailblazer and the UFO. Yes, you'll have to reload each one of them, but in FFAs there is usually an area where you cannot be attacked and most cars will probably be there, so you can just step into that area and reload.

I see a lot of crying, so time to debunk it with logic and get yelled at in the comments! Heavy snipers are commonly known for being anti-material rifles in real life. You remember those Barretts in Call of Duty you shot? Remember the DSR50 in BO2 or even the SVG from BO3? Yeah, those are what the heavy sniper would look and act like. It’s not meant to destroy, but rather pierce thick walls and armor plating. As long as it has the highest sniper rifle structure damage, I don’t see the issue, as well as it still destroys player HP. For No-Build, this change means nothing, so keep this in mind.

The structure damage is like 1/3 of its selling point. It's a true ace up your sleeve. Hiwever unfortunately the nerf is likely a response to a wapon that's good in its own right but on the wrong battlefield. Back then, it was something like: Too much building? Breach and clear. Person in a plane? Sniper is like a SAM on that nuisance. Person in a tank? It's like a HEAT shell to the armour. None of that is really here anymore and not many people use cars late game. Combined with late game circles being a gamble between sniper's paradise or holding an obsolete weapon. Hence the nerf. I'm not happy with it given I've uaed it in its prime but I can see thw logic here.

Always wasssss Lemme explain: Avid sniper user here, the thing reloads like old people shag, the walls dont break immediately anymore, it had bullet drop before bullet drop was added. Damage was great, but everything else was so bad after the first nerf. Also, you'd be better playing the bolt or literally any other sniper because a headshot usually hits above 200 damage (apart from the semi-auto). Thx for reading my essay.

Honestly it’s really sad watching the heavy fall from grace. Pros and sweats might hate it but I really liked the instant build breaking mechanic. It had a crazy long reload time which balanced it out so you couldn’t just spam 1 hits on a structure in a build fight. It’s also the only weapon remaining from chapter 1 that’s made it into this stage of the game. I’m not counting heals and utility such as shockwave, as heals are heals and shockwave is no build exclusive. With it losing the only thing that made it special and basically becoming a barely harder hitting bolt, it feels like the spirit of old Fortnite is gone for good. I personally really like comic weapons and seeing the entire loot pool being filled with really basic and boring weapons (minus the rocket ram now), it’s just harder and harder to enjoy battle royale for me personally. I liked when the game was lighthearted, silly and cartoony, not exactly a huge fan of the more serious direction it has been taking.

even without the structure damage, the heavy sniper still does the HIGHEST base damage of every sniper (minus the gold bolt and gold reaper doing 121, beating the blue by 1 damage) although the gold bolt and especially gold reaper are better, having 150+ structure damage is still an advantage, i mean look at the hand cannon vs revolver

As a competitive player this more than good change but for the casuals I can understand why it might not really dunno to this day on why they don’t separate changes and lootpools for competitive (ranked/tournaments) to normal pubs and if a casual player wants to turn to competitive they can adapt like everyone else still dunno why they cater to casuals in competitive like they have any idea how it’s meant to be played, one thing I wanna know is if they actually think they’re a an esport or thing they’re getting robbed outta being considered a esport cause their far from it if I’m being honest
