Hey John I appericate this video i am current pateron memeber and taking your upwork course. i wanted to ask you for help maybe a little bit of advice on how to approaching freelancing has a beginner. My question is, should i use upwork to get clients or should i do the local business route to find clients? My goal is use freelancing as means to get experience to get my first job.

Really, you should do both. I made a video for next week that talks specifically about this, so it's top of mind, but you want a good Client Acquisition Mix. Meaning you're not over-reliant on one method of getting clients. So, you really want both and, in fact, there's several more methods I'd incorporate, as well. Plus, when new, you also want to figure out the method that works best for you. What you're naturally better at. Can't do that if you don't try them all.
