I love gatsy, due to the Takaya Kimura's campaign, been using the moving rubber since high school. Actually the moving rubber series is more for making layer hair style with fringe/bang typical in Asian guys. I would suggest using the more recent pomade series from gatsby for slickback/grow-up hair style which is what I am using now. Gatsby has some failed products like the moving mist and water wax (their CM was good though), but the moving rubber is a timeless product.

Gatsby for hold and spiky works great, but for volume has never worked well for me. Although I have seen other guys pull it off really nicely.
@SkytopTheDancer6 жыл бұрын
you could've chosen the purple, green, and gray one, since they are the ones that provide the most hold and volume (and would be the most appropriate products for the hairstyle you're going for) if you tested the whole entire line like VO5 then maybe you would've liked it more i personally own the green and purple one, and the purple one seems to have more hold than the gray one probably because it is designed to tame short-medium length hair and the gray one only for short, though the purple gatsby provides a small amount of shine which would be good for you because you stated that a super matte finish looks too dry, and the purple one would be perfect for the type of matte finish or natural finish you're talking about

I still use it and it works for my hair because its silky and smooth but I can't maintain the quiff throughout the day, maybe for like, half the school day or workday. I do recommend this for people with thick hair and straight hair like mine.

The green Gatsby is not really the right one to use for a quiff that needs a stronger type hold. Green is for volume 'air swept' styles, and is good for Asians (like myself) whose thin straight hair has trouble keeping volume. You should maybe try the purple Gatsby for a quiff.

I wonder what the consistency is like in manufacturing. When I used it, Spiky Edge’s hold wore off in like an hour. Also, it was very obviously wet-looking, yet I only used a dime-sized blob. It looked nice at first, but once the hold wore off, it just looked and felt gross. Go with Grunge Mat, if you want hold and a true matte - though, grunge mat’s hold is not titanium either (use a prestyler).
