Giftedness isn't rigorously defined, but the colloquial usage seems to correlate with the way that certain AuDHD profiles are perceived when it isn't understood that AuDHD is involved.

Definitely seems to be a huge overlap with AuDHD, especially in the circles I move in. Would love to see more research on this overlap!
