Did you hear what Oyedepo said about offering? He said and i quote "in the new testament, they take offerings every service, you gather them for the distribution to those that are in need." Did you guys hear that? He just showed us what the purpose of offering is for, the offering is gathered for those that are in need in the church....Any church goer should not be hungry, should not lack, the offering collected is for the purpose of distribution fir those in need ..I am sure most church members doesn't know this, and the leaders use the money for other purposes, the question is: is that what Bishop Oyedepo use the offering collected in his church for? It is interesting to note that he just stated that as a side comment, only the smart ones can pick that out.

Did you hear that? Oyedepo just said "in the new testament they take tithing every service, they gather them for the distribution to those that are in need". Did you guys hear that? Though he failed to quote the bible there, but the purpose of the offering he said is interesting: to distribute it to those that are in need... Pls is that the purpose that offering is used in his church or in other churches today? Today people are in his church and church world wide hungry while the pastors are driving the best cars.

Thanks for the message. But my understanding of Matthew 23 vs 23 mentioned by the Bishop is a big axed on the doctrine of tithing, and not a validation. Can you explain what I don’t know about this verse?

Jesus never condemned tithing. He only said those Pharisees prioritised it above important things. Tithing only has to do with finances. There are more important things than just finances - that's what Jesus meant.

Tithing in the bible has always been agricultural products not money...let me remind you that as at when tithing started in the bible money was already in existence. But God did not ask for tithing in cash. Of course you may also beware of the reason why God brought tithing in the first place. Please do the disciples of Jesus paid tithe in any way?

The richest men in this world don't pay tithe. Nigeria pastors talk about tithe( money ) more than anything in the bible. if they use the same energy to teach about love. Nigeria would have been a better place. we value money in this part of the world. yet people are still poor. Luke.12.15 - And he said unto them, Take heed, and beware of covetousness: for a man's life consisteth not in the abundance of the things which he possesseth. They say anything for money. job was later blessed more than what he lost initially. what did the story depict? that we need to trust God no matter the circumstances we find ourselves. did the bible says job started paying tithe before God blessed him? hmmmmmmm. For the love of money !!! pastors say anything for money. or does him have his own bible? please show me where he started paying tithe before he was blessed again.

Giving is about the advancement of the gospel and world mission.Its not an either or. We aren't called to humanitarian work , but gospel work in its entirety. There are many millions of poor Christians, without Bibles and the very basics,be clear thinking and focused
