Dragonlink actually does have some sort of theme ( Altough I did not notice this myself either on my first playthrough). Their players are all named after the number five( for fith sector). For example, they have a bench player called vandevijf and "vijf" is the Dutch word for five, they also have a player called delafünfe ( fünf is German for five). Also, I have seen a few videos where people said that Dragonlink have a chess theme, but I don't know to much about that. This is no criticism though, just thought I might share it. I think you made a great video and you made some great points.

Their fighting spirits are all white chess pieces, so I think that's where the chess theme comes from. Also, Unlimited Shining and Ancient Dark have the black chess pieces
@janusgreenway6934 Жыл бұрын
Yeah, just look at their Captain's name that Tom Spoors can't pronounce:Quentin CINQuedea. Cinq is French for five. Also a lot more like CINQuini, Quintet etc. Also the chess theme is probably due to all their spirits being chess themed. Quentin has White King. All their forwards have White Pawn. Quintet has Black Queen I believe (which is ironic considering that's a shooting spirit and he's a defender yet all their forwards have dribbling spirits lol.)
@pelipperd00d31 Жыл бұрын
Dragon Link's Formation is also based on a chess board, ence why the Queen is on a Defending player (it's also a White Queen don't get it confused, every fighting spirit from their team is White) Their players' names are also based on popular football players (apart from having the 5 Motif) But if we're talking about a different design base for each one, yeah, they're mostly the same

The chess thing has a better look in the manga. Cinquedea talks like all the field is a chess board.

Good video! I think one aspect you didn’t really touch upon is the actual characters that you follow throughout the game. I think you’ll find that many people are not the biggest fan of some of the characters that you are forced to follow throughout the entirety of the game.

I really glad i'm not rant about this game's palpacking alone, in this game you have to find a random shit character before you can recruits your favorite characters. PLUS: Unlike its sequel where's player slots capped 20 pages (336 Players), This game have only 7 of it (128 Players), and recruits someone like Bailong takes FOREVER! (I've think recruits him in galaxy are much easier, get 100 recruits items) and unlike its sequels where much forgiving recruits systems, thanks for shares the pains, you really deserved like.

I take GO1 over the first IE game anyday I prefer the original in terms of themes, simplicity and story, but it's just so outdated in terms of gameplay that it turns annoying Aspects that I think are cool to point out about this game are: - Fighting Spirits have really cool designs - Full moveset customization for each player; it looks like a stupid idea, but this only failed miserably in GO2, it's a nightmare in terms of balance there, however in this game pretty much all Super Moves are obtainable and all Skills are dropped from matches (I've even told people before that *changing dates on the 3DS actually increases the drop rates* but no one tries it and just decides to do save states anyway 💀) - There's a really big roster and it's fun to see GO movesets on older players (too bad repetition is hella big and some players are obtainable after Linking...) why do we have a limit of palpacks though how stupid - There's a good chunk of valid Extra Teams to battle and, regardless of your Level, you can still have an hard time against them - FP and TP recovery after matches, and everything has a pretty balanced price (I'm looking at you, IE1) - I take Pallpacks any day over waiting to know if a player, that we know that exists, *exists* or the stupid gacha machines (GO2 ruined the palpack system however, with matches so long that make you give up on certain drops) - Coaches have been a cool addition, but they weren't so useful yet - Field gimmicks were fun and underutilized but executed pretty badly, why not start with something way more simple first? Instead of huge effects that turn everything into a party game... - Match length is pretty fast, GO2 is really long, whichever the player prefers here, but going from one game to another is REALLY uncanny (GO giving you almost no time for matches and GO2 making it way too long and abusing the Fighting Spirit mechanic to a gigantic repetition hellhole) you can guess which one is less painful to farm though - I have to agree that some teams and players are REALLY forgettable in this game, but those are mostly not important background characters, the old games had so many cool designs wasted for nothing (they eventually did this too with the national teams, that have pretty boring designs other than the main guys); at least the main ones were cool Having all of this said I definitely think it's the second worst game of the series, the worst being the first IE Everyone is overlooking a lot by putting that game way too high on their lists and I believe they truly have nostalgia goggles IE2 it's old and hella sick though 💯 (I just personally prefer future titles)

PalPacking isn't bad, I like having to put in work to get the team I want built, makes it rewarding. I'd just like it to be smoother and more intuitive. 1. If the player needs a character from a different selection, tell them immediately where that other selection is instead of making them have to open the Player Binder and look manually. Just to save some time. 2. If the player need a drop from a Competition Route, tell the player the character that hosts it and where they can find them rather than some name for the Route that they are not going to remember. (VERY minor gripe but still annoying) 3. Have good drop rates for items. Galaxy did this well, increasing drop rates for scout items (Wish they had done the same for drop rates of OTHER items like move manuals and equipment). 4. If the player needs an item found on the overworld rather than from a drop, at least say what the general area it is found in even if the whole answer can't be given away. 5. No overly-lengthy achievements, it's just busywork, it's frustrating to have all the the requirements for a scouting ready but you can't do it because you need to beat 70 more matches or something. Achievements can be fine requirements if they are instantly achievable on the spot by just adjusting the setup a little, like chaining a bunch of shots together. But most of the time it's just doing the same thing over and over or doing something that you'll only be done with when you've done all the game's content.
@murozaki3547 Жыл бұрын
Victory Road thankfully seems to be fixing the issues of intuitiveness at least by removing the PalPack card dealers themselves and just having the selections of players available be all in one big menu you navigate through on the spot. GREAT change that saves a lot of time.

the fighting spirits mechanic should be like in the anime where you can unleash it for a certain special move and then turn it off and turn it on as long as you have ftp to do it but without wasting the other players tp and without losing access to the characters base special moves. the palpacking was a good idea on paper but failed in the execution.
@superleafblade223 Жыл бұрын
Fighting spirits aren't totally unstoppable without one (unless it is a spirt with a dribble move) as gabi (Kirino) from my experience can steal the ball from a spirit user somewhat constantly. Also palpacking is way worse in chrono stones than the first game imo. Considering how the matches take forever even for one half to end. So trying to get items for them is worse. Plus match missions are way better than advance gauge gameplay wise. Though GO 1 does have it's flaws nothing can change that but personally i dont see it as bad as others see it.

I still hate items that require RNG to drop, why cant the reward be the challenge itself, make some stipulations, no switching to bench players, win S rank, without spirit/mixmax

The comparation in 1:36 to Z-moves feel a little weird to me. After all in pokémon you can easily play around those with things like protects or abusing type matchups, besides being a huge investment as it is a 1 use thing. Imo it feels more like Dynamax where you have a big boost for a little period of time and the counterplay is always using your own. Except in IE: Go not everyone has them so....

As someone’s who’s poured approx 1000 hours into this game, I personally think it is indeed severely overhated on. I’ll add some points throughout the video and highlight what I think the flaws/strengths of the game is: 1:23 - This is kind of for the early-game content only. Once you face against teams with stronger moves (e.g. Dragon Link, Southern Claw etc.) they do start to beat out your spirits at times and vice versa. I’ve managed to block Spectrum’s Rat-a-Tat Pass with Spatial Portal Skie Blue once lol. - Many people get an impression that spirits are indestructible tanks that cannot be beaten no matter what when that’s just straight up not true. 2:18 - Arena hazards were pretty fun to play with, especially Pinball stadium. Also they do technically return in GO 3 with the planet gravities. Both aren’t very good imo, GO 1’s arena hazards feel a bit unpolished and clunky while GO 3’s hazards are unavoidable and frustrating. Arena hazards did bring us some banger stadiums though, love me a pinball machine. 3:12 - Personally, I hated IE 3’s gacha machines so much more and I know quite a few think so aswell. The main flaw with PalPacking in GO 1 is that it is too unspecific with certain items. For example, a Dragon Link player I wanted required a pendant to drop from the 6 or so battle teams in the raft path. I rarely have an issue with the drop rates, it’s mainly the case of unspecificness. This is mostly fixed in later entries. As for Dracon Yale, I actually got all of his conditions pretty quickly but I had to battle a team in windy path to grind for friendship points rather than items. So it’s not as bad as you think. 5:39 - I personally liked the serious tone of GO 1, it did help provide a very strong story for the GO series to start off on and there is still some very fun moments. E.g. Roma, Wanli and such. - Also, kind of unfair to focus on Ivy Selective here when they are not a team that has any actual focus in the story. As for the Dragon Link with no theming you couldn’t be more wrong. I’ll highlight em - All players are based on fifth sector and equality so they’re all named after some form of “5” and their designs. Their spirits are based on chess pieces, they have 4 signature moves which are all very good in all departments. 6:47 - The main issue with IE games is that IE likes to make certain moves very common, such as Thief’s Eye. This is also prevalent in IE 1 where everybody and their mum has Illusion Ball, Quick Draw and Grenade Shot. However it is the most prevalent in GO 1 because of the amount of playtime you put into the story and competition routes. There’s Master Stroke, Seal Matrix, Ball Lightning, Entropic Arrows and more which are only on a select few players. The main problem I have with GO 1 is the slow running speed on players which make the game a bit clunky and slow. But other than that, everything else is pretty fair game to me. I would rate this game around the mid-level of IE games so it’s better and worse than some. I’m off to work on a certain somebody’s thumbnail now.

I was kinda saddened by the fact when you Scout characters like Paolo Bianchi (Fideo Ardena) or other characters that they don´t even use their Signature Hissatsu Technique which annoyed the shit out of me when playing through that game and as a matter of fact I only played through Light because well why would I go with Shadow where Endou is married to Fuyuppe? (not that it´s awful shipping-wise) I mean this totally gives two different timelines whereas in the anime (and in Light) Endou is married to Natsumi where I feel like it wasn´t exactly needed to make both sides of shippers happy. In my opinion it just feels weird to make two different canons within the game but not in the anime/manga

IE3 is your favourite one? How? Edit: I don't mean to sound rude, I just couldn’t enjoy it. They nerfed the gym a lot and some players depleted their tp in 2 moves, the story was decent I guess, although the angels/demons part felt kinda silly imo.
@MartinDudizuit7 ай бұрын
@@allopic3764 idk what you mean by gym. TP nerf is a good change because it forces you to actually think before using hissatsus whereas in IE2 you can just spam them with little to no cost. Angels/Demons/Ogres are kinda meh but at least the Ogres provide a good post-game challenge.
@allopic37647 ай бұрын
@@MartinDudizuit oh maybe it’s different in English idk, I mean the place where you can train the stats of your entire team by completing a little dungeon/maze that ends with a full match. In IE1 and 2 you got a +10 at the end of the training, but in IE3 you only get a +1 which is just useless and not worth your time. About the TP change, idk, hissatsus are what makes Inazuma Eleven the IP I know and love, and while it does emphasise the tactical decisions you make, it takes away the only thing that separates this game from normal football. That’s just my opinion though. The idea in itself is good I think, but it was overdone.

I get why you would dislike chrono stones, because it doesn't have to many interesting teams (mostly because you just play protocol omega too much) and armoufy and miximaxes being broken. But I personally love chrono stones, because of some fun characters like zanark, Goldie and gamma and I like a lot of the new moves ( such as omega assault, oglitteration, nocturne, I am the almighty) and finally i like the idea of the ultimate eleven and miximaxing with historical figures and it kind of makes me want another chrono stones season to see what they would have done with other historical figures. But I would love to hear what you dislike about chrono stones if you would want to share it
@Rutrakpm Жыл бұрын
@@tedbrouwer2831 Chrono Stone has cool characters like Beta, Zanark, Kinako... But even then those are some of the most artificial and contrived characters in the series alongside the Go 1 cast. @@Rutrakpm definetly agree on the scouting system, it once took me over 25 tries to get a recruitment item that i wanted so I could recruit one player, only to find out I needed another recruitment item for him and even worse than that is how you have to recruit a page full of players just to get the one you want. If the go series had ie2 recruitment system, they would easily be better than the og games in my opinion, but thanks to palpacking I am not so sure. I personally did like the ost, the songs that play in the bakumatsu era, the three kingdoms era and Camelot come to mind, although I think I would agree it is probably one of the lesser good ie ost's ( that being said, the galaxy ost is worse in my opinion).
