GOLD has NO VALUE. All it has is a 'PRICE', artificially priced with no relativity to reality. Stocks are pretty unstable at the moment, but if you do the right math, you should be just fine. Bloomberg and other finance media have been recording cases of folks gaining over 250k just in a matter of weeks/couple months, so I think there are a lot of wealth transfer in this downtime if you know where to look.

I asked my father if he would invest $1M in the financial market. He said no, that I should treat the $1M as if it were an army. When you invest that money, it's the same as sending it to Iraq, Afghanistan, Libya, and Syria. There, those soldiers will die, as will your investments, so it is preferable to keep your troops and money at home, safe and sound for when you really need them. And try not to require them as frequently. You should be fine after that.

Actually, it’s not true what you were saying the average person would much rather have gold or silver but the average person is also living paycheck to paycheck and they need to use their cash to pay bills. They can’t go pay a bill with a silver coin and even if they had the silver coin, they wouldn’t want to use it to pay a bill because they want to put it in a safe along with other silver or gold or real assets. That’s the biggest problem today and some people can’t imagine handing over $30 for silver. I agree that it’s much better to have silver instead of a savings account.

Can someone explain how if "Fake" money (Paper and Alloys) are truly fake, why we use that currency as a reference to the "Value" of "Real" Money? i.e. Gold is worth x number of "dollars" per oz. Anything that is .999 pure is an excellent investment!! We buy silver by the oz. About every other month, we buy $200 worth of silver rounds (not coins..that's for collectors, and not for investment). Precious metals will always be valuable!

But ideally you'll have cash inflow and so can afford to put money away i.e. invest in assets, so that you never have to rely on selling your assets except in an emergency. If a person find that they're living paycheque to paycheque and have to frequently sell off gold for food, then they have bigger problems to deal with.

It's simply a good investment but it is not the is all end all for financial problems. It's just like any investment. It needs to be appropriate for your situation and ability to take on the risk. I imagine investing in gold is a long term investment more likely to benefit your children and or descendants that outlive you. Like generational wealth such as buying art or any other asset that appreciates in value.
