About to graduate in May 2025 but I can’t seem to find a “graphic designer” job … are there other titles that I could search on indeed ? I am scared that I won’t be able to find a job.

The market is tough right now, but it has always ebbed and flowed. When I graduated it was very very difficult to get a job too. I was one of the only ones from my graduating year to get one because I focused on internships that transformed into junior roles. But don’t let the market discourage you, over time it will get better again. Other roles to search are: UI related roles, (if you have the knowledge) UX related roles, product design, or marketing combo roles (again if you have the knowledge). Some other ones for your search: Web designer, digital designer, production designer, product designer, visual designer, (or if you have the training) jr art director. Good luck!

Here are some suitable graphic design job titles for a fresh graduate: 1. Junior Graphic Designer 2. Graphic Design Assistant 3. Visual Designer 4. Creative Assistant 5. Marketing Design Intern 6. Digital Design Assistant 7. Brand Identity Designer 8. Print Production Artist 9. Content Designer 10. Multimedia Designer 11. Design Coordinator 12. Creative Intern 13. Art Production Assistant 14. Layout Designer 15. Social Media Graphic Designer These roles are often entry-level and provide opportunities to build experience and expand your portfolio. Good luck!

Definitely stay in your field. You'll never make as much as a designer, especially if you haven't been designing since you were 15. As a passion? 100% go for it. As a career? Fuck no.

I think you’re already starting strong by watching videos related to the field and doing research. Formal education is fantastic of course, but self-driven learning is also unbelievable. Especially since you can stay in your current career as you learn and advance. I have many friends who switched careers by freelancing on the side to build up their skill and $$, to eventually going full time freelance after a few years.

I think this is a feeling we all have regardless of our career path, let’s be honest - careers are scary! I was afraid of failure at first too (for many years). But that fear of failure kept me going, and I kept pushing. You could always try it out - and if it speaks to you, then amazing. And if not…and if you have to shift, you’ve learned some helpful skills that will come in handy throughout any career.

Because they may feel uncertain about these changes. With language models and new technology, it's becoming easier to enter many fields. Some people might feel concerned because it means they need to put in more effort and adapt their learning. Keep moving forward. By the way, what many call 'AI' is actually based on language models and scripts. Even if you want to create something using these tools, you still need to understand how they work. So... don't worry and keep advancing.
