First, welcome to the miniature painting hobby! I'm happy to hear that you found the motivation to get started. Let us know how it goes painting that first mini. I'd never claim that anything I present in my videos is "unique to me". I pick up new tips and tricks, and painting ideas from all over the place...all the time. It's been fun combining some of those ideas into a speed painting style that leaves the miniature with the appearance that it its half in shadow. It was also fun giving that style a silly name. Thank you! I'm using a Canon R50 camera with an older EF 24-70mm lens (with EF-R mount adapter). In this video I have the aperture set to F 4.0, which has a very tight focus range, and makes keeping the miniature in focus a nightmare, but lets in plenty of light. In the video I'm recording now, I'm experimenting with reducing the aperture to F 16, and increasing the exposure to keep more of the miniature in focus. Hopefully it doesn't make things look to washed out. Thanks for the question!
