They should really be teaching this much more prevalently in schools, beginning in elementary school. This is such an important part of history, and perhaps if children learned all these amazing and inspirational stories at such a young age they could understand the importance of everything that happened and grow up with a comprehension of how things were, and how far we have come, but how much further we need to go.

Considering the marginalisation of black history and women's history, the knowledge we have of Harriet's life is precious and rare. One can only wonder about the lives of so many other brave black women and men whose lives will now never be truly known. May they rest in peace.
