I'm not really in the L4D community, But I do go back and play a campaign now and then, its so damn fun. However I never really understood the purpose of wanting or needing to cheat in a game like this? Are there leaderboards or ranks to climb? If not then what's the incentive?

Before this video, I had no real idea how to tell if someone was cheating (unless it's super obvious, like speedhacks/teleporting, or if their crosshair is jumping around to every infected). Now ... I have concluded that I REALLY have no real idea how to tell if someone is cheating unless it's super obvious like those XD It's too subtle for my amateur eye, I need to learn more!

Up until you said VAC ban 170 days ago, my thoughts have been on it being indistinguishable. I see flicks that seem almost *too* clean, but I've also seen you get a very nice in-the-zone moment with mousecam, so I can't exactly ascribe that from a spectator camera on a 14 year old game. But he also seems to be missing sometimes, and they're taking moments between shots, processing and aiming. Not constant flicks to exact locations and shots. He also keeps looking around, not even near specials (spawned or ghosts), and mistook where some were. Doesn't seem wallhacky. And then they began slipping and showing aimlocks. Combined with a vac ban, I think they're using cheats, but subtly as opposed to blatantly.

The normal thing is that hackers are so brazen to the point of not knowing how to configure them to really hide them, and a minimum part that seeks to configure them well, but do not know how to hide them, this is one of those types, the fact that he starts shooting or already has his sights on the target before peeking out gives it away completely.

Recently I met a few amazing players who were able to always kill me at sight 1 sec after breaking line of sight. I thought ok, they know the spots, they have subtitles enabled etc. Then I took a look at their 1st person view and saw obvious aimbot with what looked like WH for survivor. How's the meta these days? I used to play a lot waaay back, but haven't seen some stuff like that jump > crouch > wallkick fast pounce before. That one's nifty and I like it. Has the cheese factor gotten very high though? Like basically skipping certain events or important hit spots with movement tech? I imagine the games are even more one sided with how long survivors have had to math out bhop routing and stuff. The infected teamwork is solid in your videos though, you love to see it

First thing you say is strange, because that trick is from L4D1. TLS removed many skips (coaster for example) in versus, some skips remain (bhop over parade, Parish chapter 4). All the 4000 hour or whatever players still use snipers and sword/fireaxe/machete and don't touch anything else. CS weapons are all bad, only the scout rifle is tolerable. There is a small community (i say that loosely) of closet cheaters who mostly play Dark Carnival.

Honestly, I neglected my infected side and never pushed high enough into comp for it to matter. As long as the hunting rifle and bullshit hondas connected and I sufficiently trolled as support specials, my friends were happy lol. I was worried the game became somewhat uninteractive, I'll have to reinstall and grind my way back out of votekick territory

So then, we have no reason of getting upset when someone is suspecting us for cheating when we're just too good at this game because basically this is what you do. Suspecting other people when they appeared good in this game. We can assume that he could be a good player or he is what you think he is, a cheater. The VAC ban could be the obvious proof but that was the past and we never really know in this gameplay. It warms my heart to see his team turn on him at the end of the game, that's great to see. The community trying to stay alive saying 'fuck you' to children like that who ruin the game for the few remaining players. Nothing kills a player base like cheating, look at 2042, after the primary player base jumped ship from Dice ruining the franchise, the remaining 5-6 thousand players have been trickling off more and more because the cheating is rampant and Dice can't do anything about it. Gotta love all these game devs jumping onto 'easy anti cheat', one of the worse anti cheat softwares that practically boarder lines Malware and does nothing, punkbuster was better and that's saying something cause punkbuster was notoriously bad..

yes the sniper can pen, he can also see his team be pinned and the top half of his body is visible, so a good player could know to shoot where you know the charger animation is compared to what you can see sticking out the doorway. the confirmation spot is the 15:21 section where he spectates him in first person and he is snapping and then tracking to the infected, no body does both at the same time. he'd either be flicking or tracking, but hes pretty much just pressing and holding his aimbot button. another way you can tell is that hes always keeping the infected in his field of view even if they are offscreen for him, and if he does look away, is quickly turning back around to catch them
