Just a reminder for everybody saying Sparg0 is the goat over Leo: - Sparg0's first year+ of Ultimate was significantly worse than any blip of Leo's entire career (he won one C tier and didn't top 8 a single A tier or above). - NOBODY has come close to matching Leo's 2+ years of undisputed dominance. Sparg0 is of course amazing, but Leo literally never placed outside of top 2 during his reign, and had a dominant record against every player he consistently fought. In Sparg0's "dominant eras", he has time and again been upset and sometimes misses top 8. This isn't to say that Sparg0 is a bad player, but just that he does not stack up to Leo in this regard. -Sparg0 just had his FIRST season as #1 in the world, where the season before that he was ranked #9; people claiming that he's been "Top 2" for 3 years are leaving out a pretty significant detail. -For people who are petty and just go off of Major/Supermajor wins, Leo still has the most wins out of any player, especially in Supermajors. -Some people also bring up how Sparg0 plays multiple characters, and so this somehow increases his argument for the goat. This is just a silly point to bring up, since Leo has won with significantly more characters, and was more redefining for Byleth and Corrin's metas, for example, than Sparg0 was for Cloud's. I think this is a silly point to include regardless, but even if you disagree, Leo still takes this category. With all due respect to everybody in this comment section, Leo is still the Goat by every measurable metric. Edit: it turns out that utilizing the ranking algorithm used for the two 2024 rankings to combine both seasons into one (which is how the 2023 ranking was done) wouldn’t even have Sparg0 as the best player in the U.S. for the year, let alone in the world; you can take that however you like.

Yeah its definite bias as evident by the other guy in this section. Acola is definitely in goat conversations for ult tho id still give it to leo for obvious reasons. That mkleo accolades meme from 2019 is probably one of the most dominant records in ults history. No disrespect against Sparg0 at all but I do think its lowkey fortunate that he had such a good season (especially compared to last season) while Acola has been largely absent from the bigger events and has been losing to Miya because hes been focusing on his schooling. Anyone else we'd prop them up higher in the goat discussions because hes dominant WHILE being a student but since hes a jp steve player people just dont respect it as much. I say this as someone who really doesnt like watching Acola and I hate steve in general but you gotta know when to give it up and how to recognize game.
