You are so right, and I have not dwelt on that sentiment or idea in some time. I think that any image or description of Jesus crucified cuts to the heart of anyone who realizes that He went to that cross and died willingly FOR US, not for Him. It's a reminder that our sin had a cost to redeem. His love overcame our sin. He is worthy to be praised! Thank you for the reminder of this very important point.

Chris Tomlins's version is wonderful but this original version is still the best because the choir is just gorgeous! I've been having a really hard time lately; mostly struggling with the pain of having loved ones who believe in false religion. Every time I read the book of Revelation I am crushed by the reality that sin will not go unpunished; and these sects of people who defy God, zealously believing that they are doing the right thing, are part of that sin. It's so hard to live in a broken world; to witness it all firsthand, and to watch these spirits of deception and wickedness ruin people that I love in the name of our Father. To see the power of false security and witness faith in nothing but lies... nothing weighs on me heavier than this. Holy, holy, holy is the Lord God on High, hosanna, Lord Jesus. Snatch them from the fire. They have so much passion for You, they just don't know who You are yet. Thank You that "impossibility" has no place with You. It was really great to just let this song wash over me, to understand the truth of the lyrics, and to cry and pray to my Father in heaven about it. Thank you so much from October 2020.
