It was not the original bible that was forced on to our people as slaves. It was literally a book called "the slave bible" which the slaveowners created by taking bits and pieces of the real bible and manipulating the scriptures to fit the narrative that they were trying to push. Jesus died to redeem mankind from sin and death. He didn't die to redeem us from hell. Remember, no one in the old testament even heard of going to hell. They were taught that from dust you are to dust you will return. And the dead are conscious of nothing. Jesus mention hellfire as symbolic of everlasting death, as fire is a symbol of that. If hell were literal, then God would have told Adam this as a consequence for eating of the forbidden tree. Instead he told Adam that he would die as punishment for this. People who think that there is a literal hellfire interpret the bible as a physical man and not as a spiritual man.

I grew up in a COGIC church. Carlton experienced exactly what I experienced in the church. I was always being taught EVERYTHING was wrong!!! EVERYTHING! You can’t go to the movies, can’t wear pants, can’t wear make up , can’t go to games, believe it or not can’t wear jewelry, can’t can’t can’t or you would burn for ETERNITY in hell. The church would ONLY preach the damnation or the wrath of God.. Never the love of God. They used fear tactics so that you could want to be saved. These fear tactics do NOT SAVE!! Fortunately, the devil can not deceive me! God showed that he has a loving side as well as a wrath side. Through his word. More churches need to start preaching Jesus. Tell people how they need to learn and seek Jesus. Not rules, not laws, but Jesus. The Holy Ghost is a better teacher than ANYONE! So, Preach the Gospel!! The gospel can save more than your MAN-MADE rules or doctrine could ever. There are now youth that was apart of the COGIC, and currently these people have now believed that they can do ANYTHING and God is okay with it because he “knows the heart”. This belief is a result of religious trauma. It’s a demonic spirit assigned to this doctrine that Carlton preaches but it is also a belief constructed by the mind in search of the loving side of Christ. The devil saw Carlton’s vulnerability and sorrow and played on it. PLEASE STAY AWARE OF THE ENEMIES LAME PATHETIC but very sneaky and smart tactics. Because we are sinners God cannot allow Sinners into his kingdom so we are Washed by the blood of Jesus who paid the price for All Mankinds sins who ever believes in him. Of course because those in Christ are in perfect love, no longer afraid of punishment because we know Christ was punished for our sins on our behalf. Whether you believe in hell or not is not the issue, but whether you believe in Christ for the remission of sins.
