That Ruckus is a damn cool build but it sounds like it's a bit tired in the low range. UNI podfilters and smaller Mikuni carbs are a mess to deal with on low cc fourstrokes sometimes, probably has to do with the angle and lenght of intake tubing in combination with pretty much unrestricted airflow.

You need a heat gun bud, you may have been able to convince the wrap around the speedo bezel with a heat gun, also it’s easier to probably just leave the panels in place, cut around them once it’s wrapped

@@LeDribFPV it very well could be. But if it’s lean and you lean it out more you could melt the piston. Airing on the side of caution, always suspect lean. Better air filter, better pipe equals more air in and out at a faster rate. That equals a need for more fuel. It could’ve been jetted before you got it. But again always jet on the side of caution and suspect it’s lean. The two conditions at there extremes almost sound identical. And being from a camera and not my own ears. The best it’s sounding is lean, that and given the mods it has already. Just my thoughts, it’s safer this way. Ask me how I know 😁 plus if you add more fuel and it gets worse there’s zero harm. Maybe a fouled plug. At that point I’d go the other way. But only a couple of jet sizes either way. If you go up two, and it’s wrong. Then go down four. Two either way. You’ll know immediately if it’s right or wrong. It’s running and driving so it’s really not that far off. Just has the little cough/hesitation on initial throttle. If jetting gets it better but not great, the carb is most likely just too small with the air flow the engine wants. At that point go straight to a Mikuni.

That LED "headlight" is not a good idea. Not being able to aim it means it's always going to blind oncoming traffic. LED bars like that have too wide of a spread angle on the light.
