for me i think it really comes down to which type of properties do you want to stay in. Economy or Budget stuff for short stays? Hyatt all the way. 5 nights or more, resorts or high end properties? Hilton easy. Tons of great value with both. Great Video, JP!!!

Thanks for the video! Just subscribed 😊 I have the Aspire, and just using it once (paired with the Amex platinum) has gotten me/my family more value than I could have imagined. I love it and need to add a second one to our setup 😂 Would having the business and personal versions of the world of Hyatt card get you to globalist any faster than just having one or the other? We’re moving soon and will be staying at least 30 days at a Hyatt Place (max stay is 60 days unless our housing situation is a mess - military, yay! 😂). So I’m just trying to plan ahead for the best route to take in earning the most points, but more importantly earning status. Thanks!!!
@jpknowledge885226 күн бұрын
I'm glad you enjoy the content 😁 I only have the personal card. The Hyatt business card can earn elite nights faster with spend, but it takes a decent amount of spending ($10,000 for 5 elite nights) and outside of that perk, this card isn't special, unlike your Aspire card which is super powered. So technically, having both cards could help you reach Globalist faster, but you could probably get it done without the business card.

Hyatt for the program and Hilton for the cards, generally speaking. That being said I am a Hyatt fanboy but use both programs. I mostly leverage Hyatt for the big luxury once a year family trip (e.g. Baha Mar for Xmas) and Hilton for the more casual stays (Myrtle Beach) and where Hyatt due to its small footprint might not have an option. However, I do mix and match the local vs luxury stays where needed if it makes sense. For example if the points purchase with Hilton, the free night cert on the Aspire and buying four nights on points gets the 5th free works out. As an example, I booked an all inclusive resort in Dominican Republic for 100,000 Hilton points per night, since due to all inclusive hotels charging per person that would have been $750 per night cash. We are staying 6 nights, 4 nights on points with the 5th free and the 6th on my Aspire free night cert and like Hyatt since we paid with points and certificates there are no resort fees.
@jpknowledge8852Ай бұрын
Interesting. Some others were saying they go the opposite way. Hilton for high end and Hyatt for low end. Most of my hilton stays have been because there wasn't a Hyatt available
@ryanccc777Ай бұрын
@ I just pool all of my Chase points for Hyatt which works with their fixed pricing. With Hilton and their variable pricing I have trouble pooling enough points for higher end stays. The points used in the example I gave above was partly a points purchase and partly a sign up bonus say 30/70 respectively. If it wasn’t for the sign up bonus that stay would have been much more on the side of a points purchase.

Just attained Globalist last month, good through February 2026. I intend to requalify again next year for 2027 but it would really be hard to stay anywhere but Hyatt in order to requalify even with a combination of stays and spend on my WOH cc; I also have a time share week in Waikiki I use every year. Headed to SFO Hyatt Regency then to Grand Hyatt Manila in a couple of weeks; can't wait to use the Globalist perks!

I'm a hotel free agent, and so I only search for the best price while taking into account luxury, location, and whether I have experienced the hotel before. The Hyatt program is only useful to me when I book within a month and there is a surge in hotel rates due to there being an event.

Hyatt offers the best value but what good is a great value or status if there is no property to stay at. I will stay at Hyatts if there is one conveniently located. But, outside of major metro areas, they are hard to find. Hilton properties are almost everywhere, second only to Marriot. And as you said, factoring in how easy it is to earn points at Hilton it offsets their poor redemption value. Also, if you can catch one of their 100% points match sales you can buy points at half price.

I’m team Hyatt, but I stay at Hiltons when Hyatts aren’t available. Points are worth more with Hyatt, & I can get SUBs every few years with Chase, whereas Amex has lifetime language on SUBs. I use Hyatt points to stay in Mexico/Caribbean at Secrets, Ziva, Zilara, Dreams, Excellence, etc

I definitely see the validity with going with Hyatt for the value in terms of Cent/Point redemptions. With that said, there's definitely ways to get higher value than what people typically consider for Hilton Properties especially if you are staying at Conrads or Waldorfs. Like you said, it'll be interesting to see if Hyatt Devaluations continue and how that starts to eat away at the value. Still though, Chase Points remain very valuable specifically because of Having Hyatt as an option. I think which is best is always just trip dependent in terms of what you are trying to accomplish. Great video JP!
