Hi Jan, thanks for this update video about the Volcano eruption. I saw a new clip video yesterday from a news channel. Wishing all the best to those close to the eruption and surrounding areas. Take care Jan and thanks again for this footage.

Thank you Ben! Many expected this to happen but everyone was hoping it wouldn't. Sad to see, my thoughts are with all the people from Grindavík. Best regards from North Iceland

Yeah Jan, people don't appreciate that life in Iceland goes on as normal and that's what they'll see when they fly there. I hope that Grindavik as a fishing haven survives, that not so many houses are destroyed by the lava flow, but Iceland will always remain its strong self. PS: I'm not a tourist.

Well said. I can't imagine what it must be like for the people who have their homes there. It seems like the lava flow is slowing down now so hopefully there won't be many more homes destroyed.

FYI, according to Icelandic drone regulation, The drones must be flown at the altitude between 70 and 120 m. No lower. No higher. Helicopters are staying above 120 m so your assertion about possible dangerous encounters between drones and helicopters isn't actually correct. Just wanted to let you know.
@janiniceland10 ай бұрын
That's true what you're saying regarding the regulation. But in reality not many people follow the drone rules and personally from flying in a helicopter multiple times here, pilot don't fly above 120m at all times.

Update 17.1 : There's no new lava visible on the surface, but new ground deformations are being detected in town and its proximity.

Honestly it looked like Armageddon, was watching it all live. Equal parts fascination & heartbreak. But, I’m in London (after a 24 hr journey) waiting for my bag & then upstairs to check in at Iceland Air. Ready to get going although I am feeling a little sluggish 🤭

Hi Kate! 24hrs is a looong way, I hope you'll get some good sleep after you arrive! And fingers crossed for some good weather :)
