Professional leauges are required so that players ain't financially challenged. ISL is definitely doing that job well alongwith becoming the most prestigious annual football event in the country. In this cricket crazy country, it has brought football at least to some TV screens. We are a pathetic football side because until 1988 we didn't participate in any fifa event while rest of the world marched forward leap and bounds. It was too late by then and cricket had fully occupied the playgrounds dominantly. We can't blame ISL for all these stupidities of AIFF.

I watch almost all Jamshedpur FC home games. This year during March when I was back at home, I could see how much ISL has improved. The matches are so intense. The young players they are so good but the sad part is Indian team will still use those failed blokes who have been consistently failing. The young players are so much better. Anyways, the intensity of JFC matches especially after khalid Jamie has been really high. Even though they draw most of their games. They press high and crest lot of chances .

A club have to build a genuine fan base to fill the stadiums. In the starting of ISL there was a hype so people went and watch. But with time that faded away and now India's one of the best teams like Mumbai can barely fill 5k people on their ground. Kerala made a good fanbase I guess, they always come to support their team. And the main team which attracts the most supporters are Mohunbagan and Eastbengal. They are the clubs where people have their emotions attached. Isl would have been dead if these two not joined the league.

ISL is worth watching as there are so many new young players are coming out in limelight. All we need is a good referring system and possibly VAR. I know that current budget restricts us to use VAR but that would be compensated in the future if the league grows. Today's loss might be tomorrow's profits. And one more thing the young and talented players who are creating an impact in ISL should be given chance in the NT instead of sticking to players who are not performing and are old.

The only reason I don't watch ISL is the quality of football. It has seriously deteriorated a lot since when ISL started . Al most every team has the same tactics . Have two or one overseas striker upfront. , one box to box overseas midfielder who will control the midfield and do most of the heavy lifting. Indian wingers and fullback with can run very fast. The gameplay tactics is simple , the midfielder will drag the opposition midfield to one side and opens up space for the winger or fullback on opposite flank , who receive the ariel ball and run to the far end and put in a floated cross . If anyone cannot put it in , everyone will just hit the ball blindly until it gets cleared by an opposition player. No one tries to hold the ball and dribble or pass it back a little to drag the opposition out of the box , they just blindly try to get it in . Mostly no cut ins from wingers, no 1 -2 play , no quality passing game . Only fucking crosses and physicality. 12 teams in ISL but only one recognized striker in Indian national team , Sunil Chettri. Almost 11 years since isl started and and we still unable to find a suitable replacement for Chhetri. The only quality No. 10/playmaker we have is Sahal Samad. And no other central mid or attacking mid is good enough. But we have a shit ton of defenders , wingers, fullbacks and 11 fucking goalkeepers. Even in the top 10 all time goalscorers in isl , there are only two Indians. Where only a team can play 4 overseas player in the starting eleven. Same is with the all time top assistors list. Isl isn't doing any good to Indian football. It's just good business.

The league can do a lot better with higher refereeing standards.. this has impacted the outcome of many games.. no doubt the games are interesting but I will say they are still quite slow paced.. to bring ppl to stands we also want beautiful football which is still missing. Hey! bro, we know that neither our government nor AIFF is serious enough to make footballing fascilities or youth camps in atleast 2-3 big cities of every state to extract talent from every part of our nation but why can't we utilise our existing infrastructure to do that. There are 1000s of Kendriya Vidyalaya and Navodaya schools in India and lakhs of students are studying there, since they are central govt schools all of them have big playgrounds. Why can't govt ask all these schools to prepare their football teams and make them compeite at regional level then at state level and then at national levels. By doing that we'll have 2-3 top teams to train at AIFF fascilities and multiple teams can be made by them.
