I served in Iraq from August 2007 - June 2008. I have always had a strong interest in going back and seeing the country from a completely different perspective. I'm glad things seem so much better there.

I have just watched the first minutes abd I feel sorry for the English of people, the cab driver told you 14 then he noticed he meant 40, also your friend Raed meant Iraqi Dinar or IQD was equal to 3.3 USD in the past not 33 and now 1 USD equals 1500 IQD not 150. yo im an iraqi soldier i went to Mosul in 2017 and a bomb trap went off once and i lost my left hand. about the chicken restaurant guy, he didn't mean his name is "dick" accoriding to the captions he meant to say "Deek" which means "chicken" in arabic.

Great video Simon. One thing that is noticeable is that there are literally no women out in public. That's a sad reality of these countries.

In 40s 50s 60s 70s 80s 90s .. there was women in every street in Baghdad.. in 50s 60s 70s there was so many families go to cinemas even in 11 o'clock in night.but after 2003 everything has changed.

Come here in Iraq see one of the oldest civilizations in the world and taste the best food ever go the mutanabbi statue next to it there’s lots of shops with amazing prices it’s the best place to buy a souvenir then you can go to the Iraq museum that contains lots of historical artifacts and really rare materials and after that you can go to the resting place of Alamam Ali it’s a religious place for muslims but if you went you can enter on certain conditions the dome of it is made from pure gold blocks and the inside is the most beautiful thing so come if you want to

On the one hand, the overthrow of Saddam Hussein was good, but on the other hand, I think the US should take more responsibility for all of Iraq and help its economy and people. Of course, the problem is local warlords and politicians and religious fanatics, but I think it would be possible to get along.

I might get a lot of hate and backlash for what I'm about to say but I have always had such a warped perception of Islam/Muslims but after watching so many videos of people visiting the likes of Pakistan, Iraq, Iran, Saudi Arabia etc all of the people seem to be so friendly towards foreigners and very welcoming. I always associated Islam/Muslims with terrorism and being bad people but these videos are opening my eyes.

How come many European countries still receive a lot, and I mean a lot of 'refugees' from Iraq and most of them come from Baghdad? Yeah, I know, the asylum system is broken in Europe. Anyone can get in by saying the magic word 'asylum'. And no, I'm not racist, don't even go there, I'm 50% Venezolana and I also have moved to Europe when I was younger, I didn't use the magic word thou. Now would be a good time for European Iraqis to go back and build their own country because it's peaceful down there.

No, the normal fare from the airport to the city center in a private sedan is 55,000 Iraqi Dinar or close to $42 USD. Why comment when you haven't anything accurate to say?
