To be totally honest, for all the people who say “he doesn’t wanna take accountability!!!” I mean.. yeah. When you have a public case against you, the *worst* thing you can do is admit to it. Do not- DO NOT- help the state make their case. Let them find their own evidence and possibly take a better deal/get less time. He will have to face what he’s done and what that means for his family, but I don’t expect him to make a public statement on that until *after* sentencing.. maybe even not until his appeals are done. He’s needs to deal with the state/feds/cps/whoever privately and take accountability *legally* before he can do so publicly and morally. TLDR: the worst thing he can do with the state/feds watching him is admit to anything. It can be the difference between “2 years of probation” and “5 years in prison”.

not everyone needs to get professional help to get clean. my brother could do one or two hits of meth and he would literally go crazy. he had gotten hit on his head at work years before and the doctors told him after that that even if he were to take coedine it would mess with his whole entire way of thinking. he had left his brand new truck running at an intersection for no reason he rode a motorcycle down the rode doing a wheelie on the rim only he has torn walls down convinced things were in it he would see things that werent' there . he would even talk to himself but then answer as if he was someone else and so much more and everyone kept making him get clean and he wasn't ready and didn't want to he even did drug court for 3 years and passed with flying colors but the day he graduated what did he go and do ...the same crap . then his girlfriend and his 2 year old daughter moved to a different state and it was only then that he realized how much he had fucked up and he wanted to at that point to get clean and im happy to say he has been clean 13 years now so everyone telling nick he has to do this or that its not going to work until he is ready

Maybe he is. His fall from grace was very public. But his path to redemption may be narrow and private. That's for Nick to determine. Not us, the public. He can't talk about most aspects of his case. So let's leave him alone and hope that he's doing what's right by his kids and by the law. If you don't like him, then just stop watching. How would you feel if everything you'd worked for can crumbling down around you (apparently by your own doing) and all people can do is bad mouth you and make knee jerk, hateful comments all day every day for what 2,3 weeks? Well I'm going to add a little positivity here. Kicking the dog while he's down is heartbreaking. I hope Nick and his family (not that I know them well ) have the strength to get through this. EVERYONE deserves at least a second chance. I gave my son many many chances and it finally stuck and I am so very proud of him. I went though DCF as a kid. I cannot express the pain it caused because my mom was on similar substances (alcohol, soma, crack) to Nick. She lost custody when I was 8 and I lived with my grandparents but her house was on the same property, so I'd try to see my momma... she wouldn't open the door. I slept on the porch a lot, or knock on her window for hours before giving up. My dad got custody of me when I was 13... no internet no cable, no nothing... I cooked and cleaned, did laundry, everything for 3 yrs before he lost custody due to pictures I took of his house (I could see the ground through my floor in spots - house w/ crawlspace) there was no central HVAC nothing. No stove, I cooked with hotplates. I was home alone for 5 hours everyday to drink a ton of coffee (untreated ADHD, and he cut me off SSRIs without weaning - sidenote, I hate SSRIs but the withdrawals are hell) and do all chores. I had an appointment that happened to be located in the same building as the DCF branch is located after I had little one #2 (obgyn shit)... I legit had flashbacks.

I watched him religiously during the AH vs JD trial. He looks so bad compared to then. I was addicted to heroin for a decade and I never saw how bad I looked. I imagine nick doesn't either. He probably does not realize he is slurring here and thinks that standing up will prevent him from closing his eyes too much. I have done this when talking to people while high. He needs help. Badly. Him getting help won't make his criminal charges go away but it will help. I believe I even commented back then that he needed to stop drinking. But that is not the end. He needs to destroy who he is and remake himself. He will not be able to do that while living the same life. Also there is 100% booze in that drink.

As you're well aware, he's not even close to bottom. Other than being dependent upon mind altering substances and a possible s** addiction, is another to the social media/the Internet and fame, but now he's just infamous. The physical dependence is God awful, and the fear (Fu** Everything And Run) is what keeps people from admitting they have a problem and getting sober. It's not excuse, but it is the truth. People with personality disorders usually end up dead or in prison, I can't diagnose him, but... Actions, not intentions, he must have looked that one up. He needs to check in to Hazelden for a safe medical detox and at least 2 months of in-patient and sober living after that. If he would humble himself, which is not likely, he could use his gifts to help others.
