I’m pretty sure every guitarist will make whatever they are plugged into work well on any given gig. Seeing how most guitarists are probably capable to dial in whatever they’re hearing oh their head. Always good to have options and good tools. Nice work, JS!

Very interesting! Helix continues to be relevant. It amazes me how they planned for expansion. I guess this means that good sounds sound good.

I prefer the Helix over the ToneX when side by side, but independent both are totally usable. It’s amazing how good the Helix tones are for the age. Line 6 has done an amazing job of updating and keeping them relevant.

Wow, I thought it was the other way around. I liked both, but A sounded more mid focused and had more gain to me. I said I preferred B in that videos comments because it was cleaner and had a wider dynamic range, but that’s why I thought B was the Helix. I’m shocked I actually preferred the sound of the ToneX. Interesting.

I had a POD 6 XT that I loved until it died. I have a GT-100 that I'm still playing with, but lately I've been playing a lot of bass so I've been using the VT Plus Deluxe. I may try a Tonex. I liked the virtual setup I had with my XT. I now have recording software that will supposedly give my virtual control again once I open it up to my guitars again. The Tone and Helix both sound good to me.

Jason you are absolutely right all these units are great. I prefer helix as snapshots and it’s programmability to nth degree is game changer for me personally and that’s to you given me confidence to play live . Anyone who can’t get good sound making mistake or may have to work on their technique of playing

I missed both the Helix, and Kemper Blind Comparisons to ToneX, so before watching this video I watched the other 2 videos and left my comments on each. I did guess right on Helix being on Clip A. I do have an HX Stomp, and have used it regularly for over 2 years, so have some familiarity with its tone, particularly on Clean Presets. But, these Modelers can sound pretty much however a skilled User wants, and my selection was a guess in both videos, though I did state my reasons in the comments.

Jason, I've been seeing a lot of videos stating that the helix is ending life. What are your thoughts? Do I have to spend more money ?

I was right, B was Tonex, and it sounded better to me.

With a stomp i have everything i want. A+B split makes magic with delays and other fx, the separation between what is delays and what is distortion is simply OP. I use it in a 4cm. And the impedance on the stomp is the trick, when using the block of fx loop send i have the impedance i want 1M for my tube amp, and i can change it to auto in the same footswitch i have my overdrive pedal and maintain my overdrives with the impedance they want to see. Just this kills any digital product of the same tier, including the overpriced ones like Quad and things like that IMO. I would never trade my stomp for anything atm, even the big hx, to much for me. Keep it simply, less is more. I have a live clip on my channel captured with a smartphone with the setup in the room if you want to check the sound.

Tone B sounded more brighter the tone A sounded like it needed a bit more EQ to be able not sound so bass, I got both and to be honest I prefer the tonex just more simplified to play and a lot more brighter

I guessed wrong. "A" sounded cool, crisp, Spartan, unadorned. It had the sort of sound I associate with a Black Face Fender. "B" sounded warmer, "blurrier" ( "muddier" seems like too strong a word), maybe more 3-D. I assumed the Tonex would sound more like the real amp, and based on this I wrongly thought Tonex was "A." I didn't really prefer one over the other. "B" sounded nice, but if anything it sounded more artificial and "modeled" than "A" did. I think I might get sick of "B," it might become cloying.

I've watched many of these blind listening tests on KZbin, and I've concluded two things: (1) People (including myself) have no f*cking idea which device is which unless we're told, and (2) If anything, people prefer the sound of the Helix.
