When Prophet SAW said “Say Bismillah and eat it”. Maybe he knew it was halal and that’s why he said that? Also, he SAW did not go out of his way to order food from a christian restaurant. It was an invitation which is different from a person choosing to eat from a restaurant out of their own accord. After hearing our Scholars, I believe that eating meat from people of the book is permitted as long as they slaughtered in the zabihah way and pronounced the name of the one true God. Which is what the Jews and Christians did in the past. In the present, only the Jews still follow. So Food labelled Halal or Kosher are permitted, no matter who under the sun serves it. If I am In doubt as to whether it is halal Or not, I totally avoid it because of the hadeeth that says, if you are uncertain about something, it’s best to leave it. Moreover, food - vegetarian, seafood, eggs, are available in abundance no matter where we go. I would not risk picking out the doubtful food to satisfy my desires to eat non veg. Err on the side of caution and eat either proper halal/kosher food - OR - pick veg/seafood. This is what I follow since 20 years in the west. Even in a non muslim restaurant, picking fries for example can be unhalal because many places tell me they use chicken oil to fry it. If their restaurant isn’t certified halal Or kosher, I will not order their fries. If I know that they have a separate fryer and dont use other food’s utentils in the kitchen then I would have it. Alhamdulillaah it is so so easy to ask a simple question and be sure before eating something. Meaning I do some checking and try my best to get the information before eating anything. Now if they lie or mess up, then Allaah does not punish or hold us accountable. All Allaah wants from us to be sincere and try our best, do our part. My personal opinions, to each their own ❤

I think this question should be addressed with following points. 1. Is the meat halal to eat if its slaughtered by machine? Because realistically its impossible to slaughter billions of chickens through a human by paying them and keeping costs low. 2. People of west don't follow Christianity in its original form because bible, torah, zabur is corrupted. 3. Are they really people of the book when majority of them are athiests. When they have stopped practicing their religion and abandoning their churches and muslims are the ones buying their churches to convert to Masjids. 5. What if those chains have some kafirs and athiests who slaighter animal by stun shock or one single swing shot. 4. All those brands in a way fund the oppression in Palestine. Does this fall under the category of stopping opression with hand, tongue and feeling bad for it?

I follow the notion being discussed here. That is, the food at these establishments are not halal nor intended to be halal. They don’t run their restaurants with the intention of providing halal foods. And the Christians don’t follow the kosher laws of Moses. So that should give you a message that you are not eating in the way of the verses of the Quran. On the other hand, those meats, etc., from Orthodox Jews, is a different story. We may eat from their restaurants or whatever circumstances. Pretty straightforward. Logic in the concept prevails here. We can eat somewhere else. We are not going to lose something if we don’t eat at those establishments. However, if nothing is available (starving), Allah knows best. Thank you Dr. Naik…

His opinion on this is completely contadictory to Quran and sunnah, doesn't matter what Asian Ulama says. 2:46 The fact is the People of book never slaghtered their meat according to Islamic Zabiha sunnah. Yet, Rasul pbuh ate their meat. Not only this, in many occassion we have seen asian Muslim Ulama treat Western Christians as if they are worse than Athiests and Pagan Hindus which is also against Sunnah of Rasul pbuh. They do it becasue of the hatred of Colonisation and have nothing to do with Islam. The idea itself was really wierd that people of Book would do anything Islamically cause they are not Muslim or followers of Islam. They do it in their way and that was accepted by the Rasul pbuh.

You have got it completely wrong and you need to see it with more care and understanding. First of all eating halal is necessary. If you talk about people of book they are christians and jews. Jews still do there slaughter based on the religious decree and there meat is called kosher which every scholar will agree to be halal. There is nothing like that in christian world. They have abondened the religious slaughter. There meat is not Zabihah which requires animal to be killed in silence before cutting the throat. The blood is not drained. So please get yourself educated before making any comment on scholars.

@@maverickkhan2718 so where did you find that Christian used to slaughter their animal during the time of Rasul pbuh following the jews way or Muslims way? You don't have any knowledge yet you are asking people to get educated. That shows how ignorant you are. It's a waste of time talking to you cause you think Christians are not the book of people cause they don't follow certain Islamic rules which Jew follow. Well, Jews also don't follow many rules. Scuh as they believe in a deity named Uzair. It's mentioned in Quran, After believeing such thing, doesn't matter they slaughter or not that meat should be as Haram as a Pagan's slaughtered meat. And this is according to Islam moreimportant than how the animal was slaughtered as it's been mentioned in Quran not to eat any animal that was slaughtered with the name of anything but Allah. Yet Rasul pbuh aproved that Koshar meat. You are trying to be smarter than Rasul pbuh. I don't need to understandanything more than my Rasul pbuh understood. That's a waswasa of Shaitan.

He translated “Other then Allah” But anyone clearly says “Ghair Allah” not an Allah. Its a big difference this Aaya 5:3 is totally mentioning the things that are not permissible/halal. True translation is “Forbidden are those dedicated to “Ghair Allah”. Where does this aayat said “Other the Allah” ???? In Arabic its called مِن دُونِ ٱللَّهِ ل aayat (29:17). Now Halal outlets are opened in USA not too many but very few. We only eat only Zabiha Halal meat.
@Heropakistani2011 Жыл бұрын
For it to be halal, it needs to be cut and cooked by a muslim or a practicing christian (not a man worshiper). The point is there are no true christians in the world now, there are only man worshiper christians.

there is one question after living in the western country and in this field I came to know even the Jews who are slaughtering the animal (kosher) they don't take the name of Allah or their Lord, it is just the method they follow. Like for them it is mandatory to have very sharp knife (chalef) single cut throat.. but no where they mentioned about taking name of the Lord. so in this case is it still permissible to have such meat?

Dr Zakir Naik is not interpreting the Quranic verse of the Holy Quran of surah Maida correctly. Allah says, " Forbidden is...and on which the name of other than Allah is invoked", NOT as he translated "on which name of Allah is not invoked" It changes the meaning completely. Also it is narrated in authentic books of hadith that "Hz Aysha(ra) asked the Holy Prophet(sw) that many people visit us and offer meat as gifts. We dont know if they have invoked Allah when slaugtering. Should we eat it?" He replied, say Bislillah and eat it wholeheartedly"

I've heard both arguments and I agree with the other view. I feel like it's atleast logically consistent. It takes Quran as the starting point and brings an authentic Hadith to clarify the confusion . I mean how many Muslims go and ask butcher houses in Turkey to check whether the butcher is not an Athiest as the probability of him not being considering himself as a Muslim is quite high. Is that really more Halal than having a meat from a pre-dominantly Catholic country such as Mexico?

There are elements that could be perceived as hypocrisy, particularly in the divergent opinions and practices regarding the permissibility of consuming non-Muslim-slaughtered meat in Western countries. The varying opinions among scholars, with some suggesting that it is permissible to consume meat from non-Muslim establishments, while others emphasize the necessity of Islamic slaughtering methods. The existence of contradictory views on the same issue within the Muslim community can be seen as inconsistent. The speaker refers to a Quranic verse in Surah Al-Ma'idah (5:5) and a Hadith to support the permissibility of consuming non-Muslim-slaughtered meat. However, there appears to be a selective application of these sources, as other verses and Hadith emphasizing the importance of Islamic slaughtering methods are not given equal weight. An argument based on comparative religion, stating that Christians should adhere to their biblical dietary laws, yet it doesn't address the Islamic perspective that insists on specific slaughtering methods. This selective application of religious principles can be seen as contradictory. While the speaker acknowledges that certain scholars from the Indian subcontinent, particularly those of the Hanafi school of thought, insist on Islamic slaughtering methods, the speaker expresses a personal belief aligned with this view. However, the acknowledgment of differing practices and the subsequent personal adherence to a specific view may be perceived as inconsistent.

Method of slaughtering has to be islamic. Most non-muslims kill poultry by guillotine. When there's no option only then it can be consumed by saying Bismillah to save life

Answer is yes because rasulallah allowed Muslims to eat pork if nothing else is available 😊

Pork is not allowed in Christianity. The rationale for eating pork is exactly how you have explained the rationale of the Arabs version of eating non halal meat

Drinking and gambling is specifically banned in the Quran so using this is a nonsensical argument in this case. Sheikh Assim and other scholars disagree with this view. So, there is a genuine scholarly difference in views. Arabic scholars vs Asian scholars. Where there is a difference in views with scholars, then clearly we do not have a black and white consensus. Who can we believe and who should we trust? In cases like this, it should be left to the individual to follow his/her own heart and they should not be persecuted for their beliefs. Personally, in cases like these, where even scholars do not have a unified opinion, I always think the best view is the more liberal view. Peace

In the western country you know what meat you are eating. There are some quality standards. In countries like Pakistan you don’t know what meat it is, is it from a dead or sick animal. This debate is useless.

A deeper question is let’s say a Christian’s slaughters the way a Muslim does and also uses the name god however in his mind he is thinking about Jesus, is it still permissible

JizakaAllah May Allah bless u. You are right. In the West muslims eat haram meat.
@noreply4040 Жыл бұрын
chacha, method is not emphasized here because even for hunt, it's not slaughter in islamic way, when any animal (dog or trained eagle) does hunt for you. The important point is shahada before taking the life of an animal. This is the base of the halal, and it is not recited by jew or christan while taking the life of an animal, so it's haram. The essence of halal is bismillah e allah hu akbar.

Tayyib foods refers to food that is Halaal beyond doubt. Since Saudia Arabia imports meat from Newzeland and Brazil you do not know whether the Halaal label is authentic or not. Therefore, it is incorrect to rely on the Halaal labels and consume the meat. Also countries like Dubai and Qatar most of the fast food chains use machine slaughtered meat which is not halal .
@zahirkhan4576 Жыл бұрын
The answer is actually very simple. Present day Christians and Jews are not Ahle-Kitab, since the kitabs in question, i.e. the Taurat anf Ingil, have been corrupted and changed to suit their own desires, and they no longer follow either the Taurat or the Ingil. So they are not Ahle-Kitab now. Surah Maeda, verse 5 says "....the food of those who have received the scripture is lawful for you....". The present day Christians and Jews did not receive the scriptures. They were received by people thousands of years ago, and some of whom were around during the Hazrat Muhammad's time (peace and blessings be upon him), whose food would be lawful for us now. But their descendants left their scriptures and changed them as well. They cannot be considered as Ahle-Kitab now.

Living in a Muslim country I can never know for a fact if the animal slaughtered by a Muslim was Halal either. How come I should doubt non-Muslim but not a Muslim? I agree with the Arab School of thought in this regard. If you know that the person who prepared meat was Ehl-e-kitab you should say Bismillah and eat it rather than Interrogating how the food was prepared.

lazy way of thought. Follow the Quran and eat halal its very simple.
