Prince was straight and a huge sex symbol back in the day. He was married twice and had a son that passed away shortly after birth. In an interview with his first wife...she said the first time she met him he was wearing ruffles, lace, heals and women's perfume but was the most masculine man in the room. He just had a sex appeal you couldn't explain! lol Saw him live in 1984 and his performance was very sexual and every woman in the audience was going crazy!

Wildly indeed! That man was sexy! He just personified it … maybe if you’re a guy you don’t get it? As a woman, every time I watch Prince my panties fall off 🤣🤣🤣 Heels, make up, lace, earrings …. I don’t give a f! He’s the sexiest man that ever walked this Earth. No wonder he was a player, he literally had women queuing up round the block. My favourite quote was from his friend Wally Safford, when asked about Princes sexuality “he had more holes than a golf course” 🤣 and that was probably just in a week!

Prince played 21 instruments. A few of his albums were 100% him. He played every instrument on the albums and sang all the songs. He wrote all of his songs and 100s for others. MJ didn't play instruments or write his own music as far as I know and I grew up listening to and going to their concerts even the Jackson 5.

He was a kid when he learned to play the piano. He wrote his first song at 7. By middle school he could play several instruments including guitar and drums. He had many different bands he was apart of in Jr. High and High School. He released his first album at 19 in 1978. Prince wrote all the songs except one was a co-write with the guy who helped get him a manager and record deal. He also played all 27 instruments on the album and produced it. He had moderate success in the early years. In 1982 he released the 1999 album which became very popular and he became more widely known. He then convinced WB to let him do a movie. At first they wanted John Travolta to star in it, but Prince convinced them that he needed to be the star of the movie even though he had no acting experience. When Purple Rain came out Prince became a mega star. Prince did take ballet lessons and he’s a very talented dancer. He did do a lot of dancing live especially in 80’s and 90’s. He continued to dance after that but stopped doing the splits and jumping off of things because of hip pain. You should definitely check out live performances of Prince.

The guitarist is Wendy Melvoin. Her twin sister is Susannah Melvoin of the group "The Family", which was also associated with Prince. I love their song "Screams of Passion", and the male lead singer's voice reminds me of Prince. His name is St.Paul Peterson. Prince was definitely straight, and with him being one to love art, expression and not be one to follow the herd, he, like David Bowie and others, did his own thing and didn't care what others thought. You guys have to realize that during the 80s, (part of the 70s, too) many male music artists wore makeup, shoes/boots with heels higher than an average man's shoe, ruffles, lace, and other designs. An androgynous man was extremely sexy for for many women. I had a crush on several. Popular music artists who were famous for their makeup, fashion and/or androgynous style. Prince David Bowie Adam Ant Duran Duran Culture Club Grace Jones Tracy Chapman St. Paul A Flock of Seagulls Annie Lennox (lead singer of Eurythmics) Human League Taco Pete Burns (lead singer of Dead or Alive) The Thompson Twins (a trio, and none are actually twins) ....and there are many more.

Watch It’s Gonna Be A Beautiful Night Live Watch the Sign O’ The Times movie he directed and you’ll never compare him to MJ ever again. MJ a pop star, dancer and entertainer. Prince a rock star who mastered many genres including pop and was also a singer and dancer and entertainer. But also a world class producer, songwriter and musician. And he dances differently. MJ had his own smooth style and moves. Nobody was MJ. But Prince was more athletic in his dancing. He was James Brown on crack!

Prince was classically trained, did ballet training in high school. His moves take him where the music takes him. He has the perfect dancers body. Athletic and muscular. I could watch Prince dance all day whereas with MJ I just get bored watching after a couple of performances. Also MJ lip synced many times as he couldn’t sing and dance at the same time …. Yeah, it's okay, we can admit it... he's wearing a Top. 🤦♂ [but he can still steal your girl though. (As the old Prince Joke goes.) ] Btw, the story behind this song is too mind blowing to believe. It was initially a throw-away song that Prince created and decided to give to one of his side projects. They took it, and improved it a bit. (it initially sounded kind of folksy.. But they made it more Funky. And they added that sound "Aaa- waa- Aaah" which was actually a sample from an old 60s rockabilly singer, Brenda Lee! And then they brought it back to him to hear. He was shocked at the improvements, and said "Sorry guys. This is too good. I can't let you have it anymore." So he took it back, made further improvements, and it's one of his biggest hits ever. (I hope that he gave them some $$$ for co-writing credits. I'm not sure though.)

Oh boys boys boys... you keep asking if Prince was straight or gay now why is that are you attracted to him like that now are ya??? Hummmm.... You must not read these comments huh? Cause not just me but others who commented about Prince already said he was straight as an arrow Prince said it himself countless times that he was straight, go look up all the women he was with see what all of them said about just how truly straight he was. Go listen to his songs Come On (live in London in 98), Dont Play Me (audio version with him playing acoustic guitar), Controversy (extended version in fact any and all of his songs do it in the extended version or you'll miss out on a lot), Plus... This song Kiss where he said women not girls rule my world did you hear him say men rule my world??? Had Prince been gay he would have had no problem with saying so. His guitarist on the other hand, Wendy, was/is gay so he wasn't prejudice but that wasn't Prince at all he was a God fearing man guys, (listen to all the songs he wrote about God such as God, The Cross, Anna Stesia, there's a very long list), and sorry to say this but a lot of people who are gay cant get with God it conflicts with there life style and they dont want that so... As for when he started playing music and singing he was a child he didn't start when he was in his teens as someone below said he started as a little kid dont forget both his parents were in the music business his Mom was a singer and his Dad was a musician so Prince started right off the bat. As for dancing Prince was a magnificent dancer WAY WAY WAY better then MJ and not just at dancing but at EVERYTHING! He was better then EVERYONE ELSE EVER AT EVERYTHING!!! Your wayyyyyyyyyyyyyy way way behind at seeing Prince as magnificent as he was on record he was even better LIVE! He was as good right up till the end of his life at 57. You 2 young men need a whole lot more of Prince cause your missing out on a whole lot and he was just inducted into the Songwriters Hall Of Fame less then 2 weeks ago, they actually were trying to get him inducted in 2013 but conflicting schedules prevented that from happening and when they were going to do it finally in June of 2016 Prince died 2 months before but at least he knew about it and really wanted that because he was a song writer and he had written 1000s of songs not only for himself but for other artists. He actually got more votes then anyone else ever has that's there words not mine. Go look that up. As for his outfits keep in mind Prince was only 5'4 in stature he had a slight frame so a grown man that looks like that does not come off the same as a big burly man who's 6 plus foot tall so yeah he's gonna look different and he had his clothes made for him so he could move freely both on stage and in these videos. If he wore big bulky clothes the videos wouldn't look the same so keep that in mind. When he started making videos on stage there were times he wore next to nothing at all so.... lol. Do more and you'll see his wardrobe consistently change watch the video Diamonds And Pearls, Get Off, Cream... all the same album. And watch his live performances especially 2013 and 2014. Peace. Oh one last video? Do the song/video where hes dressed in black and white with a black hat VH1 video live the songs called... The Ride... You wont be sorry ;)

Fantastic song! Prince always experimenting and being creative. Constantly reinventing himself. Prince was straight but played with androgyny in his persona. He promoted gender fluidity at a time when it was not a thing. Even when he began using the symbol as his name, the symbol represented both male/female. He was pro LGBTQ when that wasn't even a thing. The man was way ahead of his time and accepting of diversity in people. He wanted that diversity in his band (gay/straight, black/white/brown, male/female). I don't like comparing MJ and Prince. The media and industry tried to pit these two against each other all of the time back in the day because they were both incredible artists for completely different reasons. Prince could dance, but not as technically as MJ could dance. But Prince's talent musically was better than MJ because he could play every instrument. But both artists were brilliant and should be respected as individuals in their own right. Check out - "I Wish You Heaven", "7", "Delirious",

Prince never really did choreography. When you went to his shows he would dance, but it was more improvised. You have made comments that Prince and Michael are comparable but they were two different artist. Michael was more of an entertainer and Prince was more of a musician. Also remember Prince was much more dangerous than Michael. As a parent you could buy the latest Jackson album and be secure it was non questionable for your kids. Prince was not always family friendly. Prince identified as straight, and he was the only man in heels that could steal your woman. Put it this way…if you took Madonna, Michael, Janet ( all the big stars of the eighties and locked them in a recording studio, and told them to write, compose and produce a complete album in one week. Prince would be the only one to do that. He struggled in the late 90’s to maintain popularity. But he tried too hard to be popular. Once he let go of that..by the 2000’s he was again…a major force. Prince did not like music videos. He hated MTV. He felt that music videos were ruining music. He wanted to hand the radio stations his new album and let them decide what they wanted to play. But of course…the music industry did not permit that. His biggest downfall is that he was too prolific. He made too much music and it saturated the market. He didn’t let his albums bloom and become hits. As soon as one album was done he was finishing up a new one. I have been a fan since 1978. And i would like you to listen to his first song on his first album. It’s called 4U. It’s only a minute or so long, but this is the song he chose to enter his career (and he was a teenager). While most new artist open their first albums with their “hit song” or a cool opener, he opened his first album with an acapella. This is very important. He only showcased his voice (and he was a teenager). Try these songs 4U, DMSR, I wanna be your lover, little red corvette, erotic city, if i was your girlfriend, the sacrifice of victor, musicology, uptown and more importantly Adore. Adore is a baby making song. Prince also created bands….check out Wendy and Lisa, the time, madhouse, Sheila E, Sheena Easton, Carmen Electra, the family, good question just to name a few. Thank you for rediscovering Prince. This is someone that will be in the history books as a great musician. I’m happy to see you both taking an interest. And don’t forget Madhouse. KZbin it. It’s a jazz band that is basically Prince, but he is uncredited. But it’s all Prince just under a different name. Two albums Madhouse 8 ( the best) and Madhouse 16. No song titles to the songs just numbers. Please review the song Adore

No disrespect to MJ but MJ was an entertainer. Prince was an allround artist who played over 27 instruments, played and sang everything on at least his first 5 albums. MJ was an amazing entertainer but a lot of his concerts were lipsynched and every show was the same. With Prince you never knew what you were going to get live. Love MJ but been a Prince fan since 1986. There will never be another Prince nor will there be another MJ. At least not in our lifetime.

Not only was Prince straight, but he dated and was desired by some of the most beautiful women out there. He pretty much could have had anybody he wanted.
