His strategy never changed. What changed was collecting more data that points to the meaninglessness of the first 2/3rds of a board. Which made the losses more excusable, allowing him to continue the grind with hope.

In Mario Party 9, I once got a tie in the last level of Solo Mode. The game counted it as a win. In other words, Mario Party fully supports your actions.

i can't help but think of a story i read: a chess master was playing a computer, and it looked like he was going to lose, but then he made a strange, unorthodox move, VERY different from his usual style. since the computer was programmed with his style in mind, this confused it, so it made a major mistake, enabling him to win the game AND the match!

@@ericb3157 that must have been a very early program then, I'm pretty sure more recent ones aren't programmed based on any specific person, they just basically look into the future

@@dizzypro4974 even if you had an AI that could always consider every possible state of the board. You would need to program it to have likelihood's of given actions happening or a form of a earning AI to identify and predict strategies to avoid it just making random moves. And if it learns a strategy, suddenly contradicting it would break it as it starts from square one. As smart as computers are, they don't have the ability to adapt as humans do. And of course how probable a computer like that exists depends on how much time and money goes into it and how smart the people actually creating if are

@@JediSteve-J3- I doubt that challenge would be hard. Kirby games give you a lot of space to avoid stuff, unlike “can’t jump” which fundamentally changes the way you play the game. Only times I can see that being a problem is if bosses awarded stars for being defeated.

I wonder, how exactly would it possible to beat Mario Party 8 while doing absolutely doing nothing, since the choices you have to make while on the board require motion controls...? You don't have to test that theory because your obviously very tuckered out from doing this challenge already, but I might try this idea for myself to save you the trouble. I can't wait to see which Mario Party you decide to tackle this challenge with next. Probably the new "Mario Party Superstars" game since it will be coming out very soon, but there COULD be another Mario Party that you would like to choose for next time while you wait. Loved the video and I can't wait for your next "Is it possible" challenge.

Most games usually do go to the best player, to the point that sometimes people will opt for some of the more luck dependent ones or different games entirely just because they know they'll get crushed. Also almost all games have luck in them, the true test of skill is being able to make your own luck and prepare and adapt to bad luck. He did this in MP2 and couldn't win after so many tries until he used save states to get the exact luck he wanted. It ranges from game to game for sure though (and sometimes map). Pretty much pure luck: 9, IT minor skill required: 10, SR, Super weighted odds: DS, 4, 5, T100 Skill can be overcome: 1, 7, 8 Psuedo-competitive: 2, 6 Tournamentable: 3
