The Mini-Mushroom is a very strange power-up. It makes Mario tiny, it makes him die in 1 hit and it basically makes his life harder! It allows you to reach special mini-pipes though, but what if we tried to beat the entire game being Mini-Mario only? I feel like the mini mushroom is one of those high risk high reward power ups. Sure you can die from one hit and you’re forced to ground pound but you gain the ability of lower gravity meaning Higher mobility, the ability to walk on water and run on walls, and the ability of the one sided wall jump. It’s honestly a powerup that’s pretty underrated

God this game always gives me a rush of nostalgia! I remember watching my mom play through it, and actually beating the game. World 8 has always had the best music in my opinion. I've tried to go back and beat it myself, but always end up getting stuck on world 2. That's kinda true with most Mario games I play though. Still, I have fun, and enjoy watching others play it! I know you weren’t expecting to hear about the physics of mini-Mario with vs without an item, but I thought about it and how it actually is realistic. Grabbing an item increases your mass to cross-sectional area ratio significantly, making the air resistance not slow you down as much, so you fall faster. The weight of the item also is enough to crush enemies as opposed to mini-Mario’s weight on its own, which isn’t. Thank you for coming to my TED talk.
