It's worth noting that in Ancient Greece, "tyrant" was simply a type of ruler, like a baron or emir. It didn't necessarily mean a bad or evil ruler.

Moral of the story: Someone who puts more faith on fate than yourself cannot be a true friend. Paranoia can lead to your downfall too not just pride. He hadn't done anything to anger the so called gods.
