The key word is PREFERENCE. I would prefer to eat Pizza tonight, though Curry would also be good. I would prefer to go to Germany on holiday but Greece will do just fine. I would prefer to go to Oxford University but realistically i'll end up at Sheffield Hallam and i am ok with that. Preference doesn't mean exclusivity, it doesn't mean you aren't open to other options. You just have one option that is more desirable than others but that does not make other preferences undesirable. This isn't a difficult concept.

Western culture, with its heavy emphasis on hedonism and meaningless sex, encourages this kind of spineless position on love. We should know and understand who we're dating, and we should listen to those around us for feedback and advice on our partners and spouses. Sexual preferences aren’t racist, you don’t control them. If skin tone factors into any of your conscious decisions, like how you will treat somebody, you are by definition ‘racist’. I was engaged to a girl from Nigeria... I wanted to marry her. It couldn’t happen because her parents wouldn’t accept her being with a ‘white man’, their words. Also, my ex fiancé was the first black girl I’d ever been with, I didn’t get with her for her ethnicity, I got with her for her personality. Her and her sister were the ones making a big deal about ‘Is she the first black girl you’ve been with’, it didn’t mean shit to me, it did to them. Now, I am not offended by this video, because I am not a victim. I am appalled. I’m sorry, but it seems like the people in this video are OBSESSED with race, especially the darker toned people. To the point that it’s just unhealthy. This bullshit factors into their world view soo much that it will always be a problem for them. I’m going to say this once. Your skin tone and your ethnic background means absolutely Jack shit. If you are an opinionated arsehole, no amount of affirmative action will fix that problem. How? It was already proven that there is more genetical differences between two individuals of the same countries than there is between different groups of populations. The genetics difference between humans being is too low to speak in terms of race. As I said; back 30'000 years ago you had different human races but today the last human race is the homo sapiens. No matter what's color your skin is, you are an homo sapiens.

Same I’m dating a white guy but not bc of his skin, I just met him and thought he was really nice. I don’t understand why people would think it’s racist to date outside of your own race. I don’t have a race preference, I just happened to date a white guy. Ive faced more backlash from people of my own race then white people or anyone else. I see it happen a lot to people online too, I remember on Instagram there was a post about these 3 sisters who all had husbands of different races. One a black guy, one Asian, and I think the last guy was Italian. It was a very wholesome post with all of them spending time with family. But all the comments were nothing but assholes bashing them and spamming slurs. Some people were saying that if you’re Mexican then you have to date another Mexican. Like??? No tf you don’t, you fall in love with whoever you fall in love with regardless of race.

Of course, you might be more attracted to black skin than white or the reverse, but it absolutely should be something you can look over. Racial preferences aren't racist. Why? Different races have different physiological features. Black people have naturally large lips, frizzy hair, large bottoms, and fat nostrils. Asian people are naturally short and have more hair than other races. White people have roman noses, sleek hair, blue eyes. Each race has traits more common in that race than in others.

However, the issue was the fact that the person associated their lack of attraction to Black people as Black people being ugly, which are two different things. Second is that African features have been deemed ugly as an insidious form of racism for hundreds of years because of the fake notion that European features were more beautiful (there's no objective beauty standard that validates this) and this is still promoted in society.

Racism means to judge a person or people on the basis of race, color, or ethnicity. It means to "assign" characteristics or virtues based solely on physical race, color, or ethnicity. It is not racist to prefer your own race or that of another. It is only racist if you judge or assign negative attributes to someone based on race, color, or ethnicity. The recent attempts by SJW's, so-called anti-racists, and radical liberals to redefine racism to include every possible feeling whites and some other racial groups may experience is a good example of subtle intellectual tyranny and collectivism -- what I like to call "sociocultural Marxism."

If you objectify a woman, you're seeing them as something less than human, and if it's purely based on her race, then it's racism. This went hand-in-hand with other forms of racism in colonial times. Extending sexual objectification or racial fetishism to dating preferences is, frankly, conflation-however, I really don't think that's what this video is arguing for, but it could be made clearer.
@why-cooking2 жыл бұрын
@1 2 Like I said, you objectify someone if you see them as less than human, as a sexual object rather than as a human being, as something that's just a more realistic version of a sex doll. You objectify someone based on race if you do the above but only to a certain race of people. This is different from a sexual preference because sexual preferences do not mean you objectify people.

Everyone "objectifies" everyone. Men are objectified FAR more than women but it's never acknowledged. "Sexual objectification" barely exists in society, it's illegal in fact. Meanwhile, objectifying bodies for labour, protection and money is all normalised. If a man pays on the first date, a woman is objectifying him for his money. Being sexually attracted to someone and wanting to have sex with them is in no way viewing them as "less than human". That makes no sense whatsoever. Humans are sexually attracted to other humans. Men are very sexually driven creatures, and view women in sexual terms. It's basic biology. While women view men in the terms I've specified above: they view them as labour, protection and resource "objects".

Ok let’s break this down. A) wanting your kids to be a certain way is not racist, it’s shallow but it’s also normal. I for one want ginger kids, as a mixed race person with my genes this is never going to happen but nonetheless as a child I always thought I wanted ginger kids because I read too much Harry Potter and because I thought gingers were beautiful and I wanted it. But infinitely more than the way they look I want my kids to be strong and kind and compassionate and most of all, seeing as by virtue of my own mixed ethnicity they will also be mixed race I never want them to have to see a any title like this because it made me feel awful, like being mixed race is a product of racism! Like there is something wrong with it. And I know I know she isn’t saying all mixed race relationships are “bad” she’s only saying that fetishisation is bad... except is she? She says for example, “mixed race is the largest growing category in the UK” As if that’s somehow a bad thing? What because it contrasts with the fact people prefer lighter skinned people? Surely all that proves is people don’t really care what you look like. I personally felt like she was treating being mixed race as some kind of disease, or odd mutation that is inexplicably spreading despite all natural inclination. It’s infuriating and condescending and frankly racist. B) having a fetish, is not a crime. Finding a particular kind of person attractive not a crime, if your problem is that people only do it to experiment because it’s taboo then MAYBE stop making it seem like a massive undertaking that is somehow taboo: “Next Time you think You want to try dating outside your race”... yes next time I make a great effort to peep my head out of the tiny identity box you have put me in that has literally nothing to do with who I am as an individual I will think about why people like you have made it into something that seems rebellious as opposed to completely normal. C) the problems she talked about, people being reduced to their physical attributes, people dating other people not for their personalities but because of their physicality, men saying things like “I’ve never been with a black woman” can be problematic. Like I said types and preferences are ok and attraction is important but people should be seen as more than just their physical attributes. That’s said, we’ve had a word for that for a very long time and it has nothing to do with race, it’s called objectification. When someone reduces me to my boobs it feels bad but it isn’t racist it’s sexist, same for BBCs. This is not a race issue why are they making it one? And even if it was, thanks for not mentioning any of the other races that get sexualised ummm including white people. The buy a Russian wife scandal? Or the Asian women shipped to America in human trafficking rings in the late 20th century. Get some perspective.

I never had an issue with the individual alone but as soon as a black person dates a white person or a Latina I’ve always seen it as. it doesn’t look right to me.
